What's some things I need to purchase before coming from KY to Utah as far as permits? I'll be hitting most of the main things there such as Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Moab, etc. Purchased a US National Parks permit but what else would I need to look into that I maybe shouldn't buy there or at the last minute there for back country travel and camping.

@ concentric_killa just typical front coil overs and rear shocks along with UCA and leaf spring install. I heard it's easy but I just don't have time rather just pay to get it installed that is why I've been looking around for legit local shops that won't rob me.

My Friend Alex can help you out. If you are on Facebook search for TNA performance and design. He is up in Ogden. If not on facebook, I can PM you his #. He works out of his garage/ shop at home but its listed as a commercial address (gotta love Ogden). He is really good with engine swaps as well. UCA's and leaf swaps are something he does weekly from his various customers.

He is a typical toyota guy with about 6 different toyota'ss in the driveway.

You'll need to get a Utah State permit if you plan on going to any state parks while you're here. If you plan to visit a few, the annual might save you some money. You can buy them at the front gates usually too. https://stateparks.utah.gov/resources/passes/

Yep. Trail 304 turns into a narrow trail that goes downs a narrow canyon. Gorgeous trail. my 60” side by side was a tight squeeze then at the end of the trail where it ties back into the road has a 50” gate. If you have a ATV the width regulated trails are some of the best in the western states.

I have ridden motorcycles since I was 10 and I sold my bike two years go. I used to do a lot of woods riding back in cali. Maybe someday I will get another bike to ride out here.

A State Parks pass would be good. Id wait until you go your first visit, the ticker starts running from date of purchase.

    As for everyone else... HEY!!

I dropped the ball on a group outing down here in SW UT. (lots of family shit to deal with) And now I know why... The place I picked, I camped at last weekend and it was a nice place. Today at about 3pm, its on fire... really. A wildfire is burning about two miles from the campground. 2000 acres +/-. Currently winds are keeping it away from structures and the CG and its up on the peaks so no immediate threats. But I can see it from my house and Ive still got a bit of wariness from last year still... 36276624_10215275008445050_5016506082147_084a407d007d3de17578b4d586ca5827f4e86b9c.jpg

Yep. You can pretty much plan on at least two fires a year on or around Pine Valley.

Hope they get it dealt with soon.

I kinda hope part of my mountain lights up this year. Our forest is so unhealthy... more dead trees than live ones it seems...

    Naturally and safely of course

Maybe you haven’t followed my posts... moved here from CA (don’t hate, it really wasn’t by choice) but we left because we lost our entire home to a wildfire. Hell, haven’t even hit the 1 year anniversary yet...

No, I have, and I apologize if that came across as insensitive. Not my intent at all! I can imagine it still hurts to think about losing a home like you guys did and I’m glad you landed in a great place. Southern Utah is truly special.

I grew up in St. George, and it seemed like PV was always on fire somewhere at some point every fire season. The thunderheads that the mountain creates every afternoon coupled with the abundant dry fuel make it easy to burn, unfortunately.

You’re good. I may have been too sensitive about it. Or totally missed your good intent. Or both. I think there’s been some sort of natural disaster zone everywhere I’ve lived. Hurricanes. Tornadoes. Fires. Earthquakes... I guess I should move to Hawaii... I need to check volcano and tsunami off the list and I’ll be done!

Midnight last night from my driveway.

    Damn.

That’s worse than anything I can recall seeing there. How many acres so far?

This mornings report was 7200 acres. Havent checked recently.

As long as the winds continue to head NNE, were good. It’s about 15 miles as the crow flies. Detwiler was 20 miles from our CA house and covered that span in two days... So just keeping an eye on this one...
