Yeah. A buddy in NC is coming up to do it with his club and invited my wife and I along. I asked if I could make it in my stock Tacoma. He said if I did not mind all the damage from them dragging me over the rocks.

But then last night while Googling I saw a trip report from 2014 on some blog where it looked like a stock Range Rover was in the group. So dunno if the tough stuff has bypasses.

 

I believe there is bypasses but I don't think a stock truck would do well. @TacoFMS has done it numerous times so he is a better source of info.

 

I had a buddy run it a couple months ago and he said it was a good thing I didnt go without skids and he highly recomends lockers and at the very least a winch.

So @LocoLocal on a scale of 1-10 how bad was it?

 

Does anyone around here have access to a pipe bender for some strut tower brace action?

 

I will have a pipe bender in a few days (though not a tube bender, there’s a difference)

It’s not ideal for bending tubing, but I believe if you pack the tube with sand and use a die one size too small, it’ll work. At least that’s what I’ve learned from the university of YouTube
