Suggested Maintenance Protocol?

I searched the forums for recommended maintenance and specifics for my 2018 3rd Gen however i was unable to retrieve any sources on oil changes, rather i did find periodic suspension maintenance threads. If you guys could guide me towards where I may learn specifics on routine maintenance protocol, and suggested procedure. My main question was when standard oil changes could be maintained and what type of oil to utilize as well as filter, etc. Other routine fluid checks, suspension check, break and rotor wearability and suggested parts usage. I was thinking about using Royal Purple for my trucks first oil change, i own the base model 2.7L 4cylinder motor, and i know majority owners house 3.5L v6's. Any recommendations towards the right direction of knowledge would be much appreciated, thank you.

The best source is your maintenance booklet that came with the truck. The owners manual will give you the correct specs for fluids. As long as the right weights are used, the brand isn’t so important unless it specifies.

 

hehe, I understand the User's Manual will instruct me, however i wanted some personal feedback from 2.7L 4cylinder owners, to make things simple, has anyone had any specific luck regarding particular type of synthetic oil or weight, or particular oil filters, etc. Ultimately, has anyone used Royal Purple with their 4cylinders, if so how was it?

 

Oil is oil, its a moot argument. Just follow the maintenance book.

Out of curiosity, how are you testing and analyzing the oil? Engines run for hundreds of thousands of miles sometimes before anything noticable might happen

 

I am completely new to trucks this is my first one, so I'm just having fun. I honestly just want to see how it will effect my throttle response and mileage, i can dyno it ? if that makes any difference lol, which probably not. This truck is precious to me, so I am trying to take necessary precautions and take care of the motor as much as possible without messing anything up.

 

PS. can anyone recommend a lift kit that is affordable ? I prefer going shock/spring over spindle, and again i am new to this stuff, so if i misconstrue any incorrect information my apologies, feel free to correct me without judgement.

 

The golden question, tons of much more knowledgeable people can answer that. I think most people run Bilstein 5100s and 887s coils or something like that.

In my whole long life I have never heard of a vehicle failing because of oil brand. Use 0W-20, change it every 10K religiously, use factory oil filter and it won't matter the brand of oil.
Brakes will last 75K easy.

Again, oil brand does not matter as long as it's 0W-20.

 

I will inquire marie about the suspension fitting when the time requires thank you for your advice, hiPSI, i never said anything about concerns for the vehicle failing due to issue in oil, honestly, im getting horrible gas mileage with this 4cylinder i had high hopes for. I am trying to average 20mpg atleast, and its a nightmare to even get that unless im using crappy 87 gasoline. So i guess my question has become, how do i improve my gas mileage on this 2.7L ?
