need to learn more about this stuff
Spray the whole thing then peel those parts. That’s what derp is all about. Allows you to peel parts you don’t want derped without having to do all the taping. If you spray me thick, like you should, they’ll peel fine.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Post pics when you are done. I'm thinking of doing mine too but I'm second guessing myself. Just plasti dipped my emblems today and they came out pretty good. Then again it nothing major lol.

How did you remove the pieces on the steering wheel? I am going with the white interior look also.

I dipped the wheel without removing it from the truck and I just rubbed the dip off of the tire when I was done (without taping off the tire). I also dipped the Toyota emblem because it seemed tedious to tape it. I pulled the center cap out, wrapped blue painters tape around my thumb in a cone shape, then covered the bolts with the tape cones. After dipping the wheels I removed the tape. In my opinion the lugs should stay chrome because if you use them later the dip will be destroyed. You can dip the center caps while on the wheel or off the wheel.

Did my rear bumper white, it’s slightly whiter than the trucks paint but you cant really tell in my opinion.

Thank you! Now if I could just figure out how to pop the front Toyota emblem out without breaking off those fragile tabs…anyone have any suggestions?

It actually isn't too bad. Slightly pry the 2 top tabs down enough to where you can push them out, and the bottom tab will unhook itself. Reverse the process to put it back on. I have removed mine more than a handful of times to change derp colors, derp the grille, etc. and have not had any issues.

It can last fairly long depending on how well you do it. I dipped my emblems on my last car and they lasted 5 years. Just dipped my rims for the first time this past Saturday so I’m excited to see how my 7 coats will last

Thank you for the advice. I already broke 1/3 so I am hesitant. Nothing a little glue can’t fix I guess right?

I used this video as a guide. It's blurry and the guy spends a lot of time talking about unrelated stuff, but he gets the main point across.

    https://youtu.be/l7xNnCItv2o?t=4m55s

If you dip the wheel make sure to cover the edges that your hands will regularly contact. I didn't cover the edges very well and one of the corners is peeling already. Whoops! :goingcrazy:

If I could do it again I'd consider going the vinyl route.

Also, do NOT do white interior parts if glare on the windows will annoy you. My driver side mirror has a big white halo reflected around it now when the sun is out

Any recommendations for this? I’m going to be derping the lower valence as well..maybe even the flares too. How many cans of plasti dip did you use? Coatings? Thanks man!

Finally did all the badges. Put a few coats of glossifier on as well. Happy with the turnout.
