    Hey everyone,

I've browsed tons of threads on this topic and still can't decide on a definite choice of tire. So far, what I'm looking at is the Falken Wildpeak AT3w. Trying to decide if I should get a P or LT rating. I've been looking at P265/70/R17, but I've been going back and forth between the LT sizing.

The truck is my daily driver, however I pretty much use it only on weekends as I have a separate work truck. It will be taking some decent road trips from time to time. I only see me hitting off roads a few times a month and no bolder crawling or anything like that (yet?). Other than that it will be mostly street or freeway driving. Currently don't foresee a whole lot of towing either. This is my first truck and I've only had it a couple months so it hasn't experienced a truck's lifestyle yet.

What would you recommend for my foreseeable use?

Are you going to be towing?

Edit: Sorry, didnt read it all. If youre going to do light offroading C Load LT should be fine for you. It kinda sits in the middle of comfort/durability/towing ability.

Right now, no. In the future, the only thing I might see is camping gear on a small trailer.

The best way to look at it is this. If youre not going to offroad or tow, go P. They are more comfortable and fuel efficient. If you are going to offroad or tow go with LT.

The best thing to do is be honest with yourself. Are you really going to offroad a couple times a month or is it going to be more like once or twice a year.

In the snow, probably not. In the summer, heck yeah. Been up a couple times already, but maybe it's just because I'm in the honeymoon stage with my Taco lol.

I just don't want to purchase a 4-ply then find out I should have gotten a 10... or vice versa.

You dont need Load E for what you are describing. I recommend you go with LT Load C (6 ply). It'll give you the best all around for the needs you are describing. You can offroad, they arent super stiff on pavement, and you can still do some light towing every now and then. Save you money in the long run.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the AT3W's come in C load for a 17" wheel. I'd have to go down to a 15" to get there.

Well I've heard some people say the Wildpeaks dont ride like bricks with proper pressure. If thats what you have your heart set on, I'd say go for it. You may also want to look into the BFG KO2's. Ive heard good things.

My main reason for looking at the Wildpeaks were for the water and snow handling. I've read the KO2 isn't that great in those conditions.
