I hear ya. They should have a tool that they can scan the sensor through the tire and program it to the new truck. If tpms light is on and they tell you to drive for xx miles then they are full of shit and didn't do it right.

 

+1 for Discount Tire. Have had good experiences with them. They did this exact work on my sisters Tundra.

 

DT is great but I've heard down there in Sweat Carolina that they are rare to find.

 

We dont have those down here sadly. Every place I have called said they cant do it on an 18. I know they're dumb because if they can on a 16, they can on an 18.

 

Just tell them it's a different year that they say they can work on lol.

 

Call around enough and you'll find a mechanic who won't know the difference between 2nd and 3rd gen.... but then again you probably don't want him working on your truck.

 

The teenagers at DT do a fine job with tires, and I've seen untrained monkeys do decent jobs too. For other work though, I agree.

I dunno if it would work on a stock leaf pack, but I need to hold on to it for when I graduate to the HC rear with all the goodies.

 

Are there different degrees of the Dakar packs? I'm looking to make a homemade bed box and then possibly get that Wilco tire gate for the hitch. The current AAL pack I have is already sitting kind of low and idk if it'll support that extra weight easily.
