Can I haul a 13'4" timber in my DCSB?

It probably won't happen but is there a way to make it work?

This massive railroad tie is 9"x7"x160" (also stupid heavy) and needs to move 30 miles up the freeway. I can't figure out a way to do it in my Taco but maybe someone out there has an idea ... I've seen some crazy smart things here on TW.

Just kidding. Not sure if one of those receiver extension supports could handle that much weight when cantilevered that far out. The manufacturer probably has load specs you can read up on.

Looks like the Harbor Freight one has a load capacity of 350lb. I think I'll give it a shot, just printed my 20% off coupon

 

The front D-ring tiedown mod would be ideal for strapping this thing down.

I have put a stack of 2x10 16 foot through my slider window and on top of tail gate for 15 miles

Not sure if OP has a sliding window.

I go through the window for pvc pipes, baseboard, etc but this log would crush the rear cab frame

I hauled a 16 foot long farm gate in my long bed. Put something heavy on the front, strapped it down well, tied on a red flag and away I went. No problems.
