I think that's pretty common on manual trans Tacos, reverse can always be a little finicky. Still not a bad idea to replace the shifter seat since they're cheap and relatively easy to do.

Well I think my world ending highway shake might be a bad center bearing. I got under it for a minute and I can get 1/2 of pretty easy play pushing it around. Guess I'll get a NAPA one since it is made with SKF bearings

no once I load my gear my ass end sags pretty hard. Im just gonna do it the right way. I weighed my truck yesterday and Im going to order the custom back. I plan on hauling kayaks more often, and possibly a dirt bike on the hitch. So ill need the extra support.

Yeah, hitch hauling takes lots of support, that's the biggest lever you could have. Hopefully the new leafs work out well for you

How much weight would you have in the rear with all your gear loaded up?

It was more low-key with camping on BLM land last year. I believe the same is planned for this fall. Actually was a much nicer place to camp than BFE.

Always need more first gens at Rock Therapy though.

With a 60 quart orca cooler, 5 gallons of water, 2 gallons of gas, Tool box, Camping gear(sleeping, cooking etc), and either backpacking or climbing gear. At least a couple hundred pounds and then add 2 kayaks to the roof. I go camping a lot, Ive been the past 7 weekends lol Going backpacking again this weekend.

According to the weight station slip, this is what a load of 860 pounds, or 0.43 tons looks like. It wasn’t sagging that much.

I did a load of concrete a year ago, and that was probably some of the worst sagging I’ve ever had in the rear end. I think I was pushing the GVWR at that point.

Those stock leafs sure put up a fight at 96k.

So everyone says put the thermostat in with the jiggle valve in the 6 o'clock position. Well taking mine apart, it looks like this:
    IMG_2580.jpg
That's factory original. I'll put the new one in at 6 o'clock, but it's curious how it came from the factory with it in the 12 o'clock position.

So with out gear my truck weighed in at 2.650 tons. So .55 tons more than your truck with out gear. 1100lbs

Oh yeah I forgot about the camper shell, those things weight a ton. I bought a simple one just out of impulse for $50 and it takes 4 people to move it around.

Have you considered a trailer? I see a lot of guys taking those M1102 Army surplus trailers and turning them into off-road trailers. They’re already built for it and they’re relatively cheap.

Holy shit... 1,100 pounds unloaded? Camper shell and sleeping platform can’t weight that much.

Haha shit, I have a plated bumper and sliders too. Just haven’t welded them together yet.

What kind of fuel economy are you getting?

Man I get 15 MPG average now on my relatively stock 4x4 conversion. When it was still a PreRunner the fuel economy was a little better. It’s definitely going to get worse once I get all the armor on, and the lift I still have to get rebuilt.

Doesn’t help I only have the Auto 3RZ and I drive like a maniac. I’m always Pedal-to-the-metal trying to get up to highway speeds because it’s slower than loaded semi trying to go up a 14% grade.

It's a truck, who cares about MPG. Go drive your Civic around if you wanna get good gas mileage.

My wallet, 87 is $4.13/Gallon here.

The Civic would be a good daily. However, it’s just about the most boring thing you can ever drive.

The Honda Civic is the Soylent of cars.
