BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
8 years ago I knew I was buying the slowest vehicle on the planet. 8 years later I’m still driving the slowest vehicle on the planet

YOU need to decide whats best for you, not some sales person.

I personally would never buy an I4 truck of any kind. I would always be overworking it with payload. Plus I don’t think they even make the double cab with the long bed.

Plus you can’t mod them with lifts and tires and not totally suck the power out of them.

If you do only light duty truck work and daily driving the I4 is just fine. Its an invicible engine because it is NOT a V. It is designed inline so its an I4. I and H engines balance much better than Vs and have less mechanical problems.

It will be a truck that will have great longevity but you will have to adjust to the lack of power. No matter what anyone says, there is a marked difference between tge 4 banger and the V6.

It shares roots with the famously bulletproof 22r/22re motor from 40+ years ago, so I would say it's a tried and true little engine. I still see plenty of old 80's pickups putting around town with those motors going strong, even see them maintaining highway speed with loads that are definitely over the intended payload. It might not be fast in today's heavier pickups but it will get the job done.

Cockroaches and Toyota 4 bangers....that's what will be left standing after the apocalypse. And maybe a handful of 3.4l v6's albeit with leaky valve covers.

Welcome to TW and congrats on the new truck! As long as your not towing anything you should be fine. Enjoy it!
