You can still get in the “northstar battery” group buy.

Group 31 will fit with a pelfreybilt battery hold-down. Well worth it.

What's not to trust? Do you also go to the butcher for new steaks before finishing the one on your plate?

I've had 8 year old vehicles with original, OEM batteries that still performed and tested fine. Why throw money out the window for something that's not a problem?

Because the manufacturer of our batteries are the same as the subaru ones. Lucky to get 2-3years. I change them all day long at work.

You can get a Battery Tray from a 2nd Gen with Towing Package and then use a 27F Battery.

My 2nd gen oem battery made it 9 years. Based on everything I've read up to this point, these 3rd gen batteries don't usually make it 3 years. I'll probably do the same.

I work at subaru as a service advisor. Our batteries are getting changed hand over fist. I’d rather spend a couple hundred and not worry for 5 years. What is the stock size 27f?

Stock is 24F, you can go 27F by using the Battery Tray from a 2nd Gen with tow package

Really? Wifey has 2011 Outback we got some time in 2010 w/ 126k on it and it has the original battery. Beside the FUCKING headlights, this car has been perfect. I cannot believe Subaru has done nothing about these fucking headlights and burning out ALL the time. It seriously sucks changing these things going through the wheel wells. Rant done :bananadead:

those are literally all the same. Out of the same factory.

    I recommend East Penn Deka

Interstate and Optima are both made by Johnson controls..

2yrs ago I went to jump a Impreza it was a few months old. It wouldn't take a jump, no idea what the issue was. The owner thought it may have had something to do with the eyesight system. I didn't know what eyesight was at the time. It was probably a shit battery.

Isuzu truck, had shit batteries from the plant a few years ago.

Yes, I have used, OEM, Sylvania, and every brand around here I have tried on multiple grades of lights - no difference. Actually the cheap ones from the auto shop seem to last the longest :notsure:. Seriously the dealer has probably changed 4 to 5 times each and myself at least 10+ times. I keep 2 extra bulbs in the glove compartment and I change them using my rubber EMT gloves, so no skin contact... Unfortunately, LED will not work, we need to melt the snow while driving in winter. At least I have become very good at it

If you own a Subaru, I'm convinced at two things. You'll get really good at changing headlights, and you'll be well versed on how much oil to add after 1k miles. Those things eat oil for dinner and have the headlights for dessert.

We had the 2.5 as well. I wouldn't go anywhere without a quart of oil and a spare headlight bulb. Ours consumed a ton of oil. Scary amounts. We got rid of it at 50k miles. It was always a hassle to try and find a flat spot to add oil on a road trip.
