What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yeah i wouldn’t hunt a predator, there numbers are to low as it is. I hate guys who hunt bear especially when they use dogs

 

Got it back fron the dealer. 2 different techs were unable to reproduce the sound Ive been noticing/feeling. My service advisor had left before I got the truck back so I'm not even aware of what all was checked. If anything. Guess I have to call tomorrow and get some answers before I start the game of throwing money at parts I probably dont need.

 

Well today was pretty fun! I had to head down to Bloomington, Indiana to turn in a bid for a job and since I wasn’t going to go back to the office afterwards I decided to head to Yellowwood State Forest to see what kind of back gravel roads I could find. I found quite a few and saw 3 doe whitetail and one had two fawns with her, I then saw 3 turkey in a bean field awhile later. Here are some of the pics I got of the wildlife and the gravel roads.

Then when I was headed out onto the main road I came across this pit bull who was walking in the middle of a major state road so I stopped traffic to get her off the road and loaded her into my truck to take to the Humane Society. She’s got some skin condition and just wanted some love. She was chipped so hopefully they find the owners and get the dog the meds it needs for her skin.

 

Wtf do you have in the front? Mine is 2480 front 2740 rear. I have the 3 inch springs. I definitely have done rake with my clapped out 882s in the front. Mostly noticeable when not loaded down for a trip.

I like the Daystar cab mounts but the surface area of the bed mounts is too small.

I couldn't let her keep walking, slammed on my breaks and cut the other side of the road off. The semi behind me helped hold up traffic long enough to get her off the road. I'm a softie when it comes to dogs, especially pits. They get ragged on and talked bad about a lot but the bad ones are such a small percentage. Personally never met one that's wanted to do anything more than a belly rub lol. Mine will stand next to whoever will give her some love. She's like my shadow though, will follow me all over the house, I almost feel bad sometimes lol

 

Same here, I used to volunteer at a LA pitbull rescue Bullies and Buddies doing photos of their dogs for their adoption profiles for a couple years. On top of their bad rap, many of them have the worst/most depressingly bad photos online, its no wonder they don't get adopted.

 

Oh I know! They look like they hate life. I get good pics every now and then but most of the time she looks at the camera like this

Btw, Chihuahuas are the absolute worst...little demon hellspawns, I had far closer calls with getting injured with them than I ever did with a bigger dog or pitbull

Put in a new shift lever bushing while you're at it. I got both from Marlin Crawler. They make the transmission feel brand new again.

Plate bumper, winch and full skids. Makes sense to me that the front is heavier by a lot

 

Any recommendations on what to replace them with? I have icon coilovers in the front

 

Front brakes..... new rotors, pads, caliper hardware, ss brake lines, & flushed out all the old fluid, put in synthetic dot 4. Never flushed the system before & I think it was time since all the old fluid was dark green.

I'm done buying Brembo replacement rotors, finally wore them out. Nothing special about them anyways, tired of the rust & expensive. Went with Centric this time. Hope they're decent.

 

I just put those exact same rotors on mine when I did my brakes about a month ago. Been happy with them so far, we'll see how they age. What pads did you go with?

 

God I need to do this, just need new calipers and it's go time. My fluid is WAAAYYYYY past due

 

You'll likely need a 9" in stock locations. But best to measure and go from there after you get the leafs.

Best to relocate them in general. But that takes welding.

 

I hope so. Never had warping issues with Brembos so I hope these wonxt give me any problems. If they don't I'll buy another set. I always buy a spare set so I don't have to wait to get them turned on the day I'm doing brakes.

Hawk ceramics, I don't care for semi metallics on this truck. I know some people talk shit about them but I've been using them for years & I'm happy with them. They don't eat up the rotors, dust is not bad, & they're quiet. I tried EBCs once & whatever ones I used sucked ass. Dust like crazy, wore out way too fast, & they're were over $100!

 

Decided to see what kinda difference having an intact center support bearing makes.

 

For now they icons will work tho? I just won’t get full droop?
