That's a Tacoma?

 

Kinda, has a fiber glass body that kinda looks like a tacoma but its a tube chassis race truck

 

Think that's how I'm going to do up the E320. Make up a custom tube frame and drop it on a 1 ton Dodge Diesel chassis.

 

These things are kinda annoying to change.

The way the Toyota FSM says to torque it is pretty strange. You have to take the stake nut on, and off, and torque it again to get it seated.

 

It's a Unibody, so I have to make my own frame either way.

 

I changed mine like 3 times this winter.... Old bearing didn’t care about the lift. New one, not so much.

This things kinda goofy.

 

My old bearing is silky smooth but the rubber has given out

 

Yeah torque to 134 to seat it fully on the shaft race, then loosen and retorque to 51 to hold it

 

My bearing went bad going home from school one day. Sounded terrible.

So I changed it, didn’t know about the fancy torque thing Tyler mentioned and just got it good an tight. Pretty sure that gonzo’d the first one.

Second one I think the driveshaft wasn’t straight, gonzo’d that one.

3rd one I used some spacers and lowered it, pretty sure I got everything right that time. I think.

 

i love doing these at work... no one wants to do them.. but i find them easy.

 

You can just build a frame for it out of square tube and just throw some solid axels and leafs on that
