You only need the ECU file. A new TCU file is being worked on, there was one but there wasn't much of anything in it as most settings are controlled by the ECU

Long time reader, now new member. I made the purchase, received email, down loaded instructions, Toyota Flash and p5flash on desktop. Emailed ID and order # to Matt Sunday US central time. Then emailed a question. I got an answer to the question from Matt Monday evening but no "key" or unlock file. The download flash tools button under Toyota flash manager tools is greyed out and will not work. Am I correct in thinking nothing will work without a key?

When I plug my truck into the laptop the software has no reaction and the buttons in both software's are greyed out.

I’m right there with you. It’s so good that I’m not racing to a new version. The tune feels so natural, smooth, and predictable I’ve almost stopped thinking about what gear it’s in now bc it almost always seems to be in the right gear day to day and my MPGs match the sticker more or less now! The long hold of 3rd when on an incline with a load could be tweaked but there should not much else short of FI I could want

Hey all, I purchased the tune in March and received it late April. My kit came with a mini black Guardant dongle. In the dongle instructions (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0885/5830/files/Tacoma_NEW_instructions_v4.pdf) the link for the flash manager (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0885/5830/files/Toyota_Flash_Manager_V1.0.exe) does not work.

I tried the v1.09r flash manager listed in the dongle-less instructions and it did not work despite installing all drivers. Does anyone have a working download for flash manager v1.0?

literally the same thing happened to me... IIRC it was at the 16-18 mo. window, around 30K miles for me
Nice choice of battery, I also went with the X2Power AGM battery and really glad I did at this point. Truck still starts faster than it ever did with the oem battery and Ive had the new one for over a year at this point

For those that have asked about towing on 1.04, here’s my experience. I’ve towed this trailer pretune loaded to about 3500-4000lbs. Definite work for the truck. On the interstate it was difficult to get to 60mph or above and stay there. RPMs were between 4000-4500. I pulled the same trailer last week loaded to 5700lbs on 1.04 (91) and it pulled like a champ. No difficulty at all. It was very easy merging on to the interstate and could cruise at 70mph at around 3000-3200RPMs with power to spare if needed. Smooth shifting and it didn’t jump around gears except when needed. The truck felt strong and I’m very happy with the towing results with the tune.

Jesus, almost 1000 pages. I didn’t see anything in the original post about where/how to purchase. Or am I missing something?
