Welcome to the forum, beautiful truck!

Like others have said, drive it for a while and see what happens WRT shifting. Check out ECT PWR, S-mode, whatever. If you still don't like it and want to invest in OVtune, have a read of the review thread and educate yourself as much as possible on the product. Ask questions of the vendor. It's a lot of money, but you can spend more than that on a catback exhaust that won't give you anywhere near the benefits.

What I wouldn't do is base my decision on other's opinion of THEIR truck, good or bad. Many, many owners love the way their Taco drives stock and I believe them. Some don't, and there are solutions for that.

This is what a balanced opinion looks like. Notice how I didn't say "I can't believe the peeps that drive these things stock and say they are great" or "WTH are you talking about, my truck runs great - it's just a few complainers that run the tune".

Naw, sounds like ppl just like to defend their purchase either way you look at it :notsure:.

Now get the hell off this dumpster fire of a forum and enjoy your truck :)

Like @tnel12 said, try keeping it in 5th gear at highway speeds. I had my local Toyota service center explain to me this morning that for larger non-stock tires, the transmission will keep hunting between 5th and 6th.
Has anyone seen this issue corrected using OVTune? I am due for new tires soon and want to size up.
Also, that's a kick ass looking TRD sport you've just got yourself... well done!

The tune really did make a substantial difference on keeping the truck in 5th and 6th, it was a huge improvement over stock. The tune definitely let me keep my truck, the gears made me never want to get rid of my truck.

Thanks to all replies, yea I love my trucks looks but the auto tranny takes some getting use to. I’m finding out that around the city I can manage 17 mpg !!! I can live with that, but at 65-70 mph was the issue (16.5 mpg) Now that I had the TSB done , I’m eager to see what my next road trip does. Not quite ready for the tune, but good to know I have the option.
