Well, not that Im looking for another Taco, but I do like to search local lots to see whats out there. Today I found a SR5 with Off Road badges on it.

Its not advertised as OR, but IMO I think they are asking OR money. My next question is I wonder if they will tell the next buyer thats its really only a SR5.

If it wasnt for TW, I wouldnt have known any better. The seats are the give away and I cant see a locker button. Plus, it looks like a long bed too, cant tell by pic.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
definitely shady....u are right about the seats and the locker button, plus the tires should be rugged trails and no bed outlet button either (if it were an OR)...and the OR decals are crooked as shit...especially the passenger side

When I bought my taco I didnt really know anything about them. I bought a base model that had TRD OR stickers on it.
I bought it in Feb 08 and paid 22k for it, DC prerunner with 7k miles.

After I found out I was pissed but nothing I could really do about it. Now my truck is pretty much just as nice as any TRD OR :D

Long Bed, it is. Although you couldn't tell from the pic, it's obvious to me since I have one. And since it's not a Sport, then it's an SR5. The short beds don't have the extension of the door ridge (the raised area below the badging) onto the bed for another 8 inches or so. That's how I can tell the difference from any angle.

So did you tell them it wasn't and that they'd better be careful of false advertising by saying that?

I did the same thing. The previous owner put the OR decals on. Mine is just an SR5 4x4. I took the stickers off though. Mine is an 07, bought in August 09 with 42k miles only paid 20k which was a really really good deal compared to what most are selling for around here. I don't think I will really ever use the locker anyways. Just the simple 4x4 is enough for the offroading I do.

Haha when I was shopping for my doublecab 4x4 offroad a dealer had a 2009 as well with offroad sticker and was asking for 33,xxx used with 8,000 miles. Immediately the trd sticker stood out and ask the sales manager if in fact that was a offroad and he said yes and I was like f@&$ no. Sticker was not straight and seats was not sport. I told him this is false advertisement!

I hate scams. Wouldn't be surprised if the Dealer did it to get more $$$ for it....
