Real nice truck bro! Would even think twice that it's a 2wd. How hard can you off road with the prerunner? I have a prerunner as well and was thinking about getting the same winch bumper to help me get out of trouble when needed

 

I go decently hard. Probably stupid sometimes. Love the winch bumper. Also, really appreciate the comment man! Im working hard to make it a strong PreRunner and overland vehicle.

Just got back late last night from a 500 mile journey. Rig ran flawlessly.

 

Update: I ended up grabbing a pair of 5100s w/ 885s in my ride quality is drastically improved. The 590 spring seems to be perfect for my setup

 

What did you install in the back to match the front springs?

 

I already had Dakar Medium Duty leafs.

 

I have a Prerunner but I haven’t taken it off road.... yet. I doesn’t have a locking rear diff, but I’m pretty satisfied with it so far.

 

Nice truck and welcome! Prerunners are quite capable, much more so than people give them credit for. Dont be afraid to test your truck's limits, just make sure you have some good recovery straps, a recovery point, and a buddy to help pull you out if need be

Did you swap in the earlier gen tail lights? I dig the look, just dropped one of my LEDs last weekend and broke part of the housing, so ill probably swap mine out too

 

Yes. I can't stand the LED tails. I swapped them out for the incandescent tails from my '13 base before I even left the lot.

If you're planning on doing this, be aware that there were 2 different runs on these lights...'05-'08 and '12-'15. IMO the later ones are better because they seem more red in color and less susceptible to fading.

These tails are nearly 6 years old. I do treat them with Mequires Plasti-X every couple of months. Still very red.

Agreed! I would keep them if they were all red, but damn they just had to chrome it up lol

 

It's all subjective. Most people dig the LEDs. Just not me.

Oh....and one other thing. If a light goes out, it's a $2 bulb. If one of the LEDs goes out? Well, you know the rest of the story.

 

I have my incandescent ones that I’m keeping as trail spares, but if you prefer them I’d do a straight across trade. We each pay our own shipping.

 

Thanks for the offer man! Are they the ones that came off your 05? I'm hoping to find some newer ones off a 12-15, and one of mine has a crack at the top of the lens, so not sure how appealing that would be for a trade. Just trying to be as honest as possible. Dropped that bish last weekend when I took it out to take the bed off.
