Well, I put my name in the hat again to go back to Iraq today... Hopefully it will go as smoothly as the first 6 month run... Just thought I'd share. 3 months and counting.

This is actually my 3rd if I count the one in 2000. Iraq in 2005 was my 2nd... and I almost asked to go to Afghanistan, but the only open billet in my line of work was like September of next year... Ug - didn't want to wait that long... Godspeed on your side of Iran :)

Thanks bro! I'll try to stay in touch if I can...

Not a problem, why not help out a fellow brother. Color of uniform doesn't matter when in the end of the day we all stink the same.

We do all stink the same there - that's for sure... And I'd gladly lay down my life for a soldier, sailor, or airman... as much as I would a civilian or a Marine...

    Cheers!

    good luck..!!

Being in the Navy and on a ship have a few good things associated...seeing as I've been over to the gulf region twice, not one day boots on ground, during Oct 2001 and Jan 2003. No direct combat for me, thankfully.

Hey guys... Merry Christmas and Happy New Years... And thanks for all the well wishes... I am still here in the Raq with about 50 days left on my 6-mth sentence - LOL

Today is my 131st straight day of work here... Mortars on Christmas, Mortars on New Years... and I bought a Harley. 2011 Dyna Wide Glide in Sedona Orange - black flames. Will add some pics when I can... the computer I am on doesn't let me upload shit.

Hope everyone is well and I'm gonna start getting spun back up here on TW in the coming weeks.

    Cheers,
    Don

P.S. To those of you that went or are going since my OP, good luck no matter what dark corner of the planet you end up.
