    thank you sir!

I was just recently feeling impressed that I had never grenaded any parts on the truck.. Considering the abuse I sling at it and the budget parts it gets. Well, the worldparts cv axles just blew.
    IMG_20180601_154059.jpg
Was able to pop it out, improvise a plug for the diff, and winch my way out of the bush..

Considering this axle was installed 2 months ago, I figured I should probably spend on OEM..

Toyota wanted $612.xx cad for a single axle... So I went for napa Remanufactured axles, a set for $400.. I do hope to get more than 60 days (albeit hard days) out of these..(replaced pass axle as well, tore a boot a while ago) Also noticed they have an option for extra durable boots, which might be worth a gander, although this axle blew up, boot didn't play a part..

Header gaskets showed up in the mail as well, exhaust leaks been getting a bit rediculous, can't wait to get that fixed.. will update!

Been there done that as well. Both CV axles are replaced on my vehicle. To my surprise, they did not go out until about 230,000 miles.

that's why I'm opting for the flush mount version... but you are undoubtedly correct..
I-told-you-so points will be awarded, eventually, I'm sure..

flush mount visors and new tint, open box, doesn't take much to radically change the look of the truck, never get sick of it.. Just need some time to throw some stickers on it.. Kinda need to open the road up a bit so I don't bust the new visors or peel flags off.. Soo many works, so little days.. who's ready for winter?!

sweet jesus, my JBA header is starting to look like my teeth.. Had it roughly patched with a joint sealer compound, but then went in to clean it up to attempt welding it shut and found a much bigger leak than I thought I had sealed. Also no luck fitting a mig in there to seal it up..

My exhaust was welded together instead of bolted together at the flanges, so it's a big job to take it out and repair/replace. So I'm going to give it another shot with bandaids, but I'm not going to hold my breath, that's a massive hole.

I thought replacing the header gaskets would fix it, but I should not be so lucky.. That was a hell of a job too, without removing the headers
    :annoyed:

this is an awful picture, but it's a win..
joint sealer underneath spiderpatch tape, wrapped like a boxers hand and wound with wire to help it all set..
cause, if she don't find you handsome, she should at least find you handy

my rims are steelies, leaving the hubs exposed, just a rusty rear hub. I've since wire brushed and coated it in matte black to match, it stands out pretty bad in that photo.:anonymous:
