60s and 70s they were bad ass moto x ers. Then Honda built the Elsinore....Yamaha built the mono shock. And they all started water cooling em. Left Euro bikes in the dust.

Husky and KTM sorta caught up....and made bikes no one can afford.

KTM has some of the most technologically advanced bikes on the market right now...if you want to pay car money for a bike.

That said, I'd still really like to have a 350 exc-f to tool around on

Fast riders can go fast on a Vespa. Tech is cool but simple has its place too.

I'm still a Honda addict. Loved my CR 2 strokes, but would LOVE to have an old school XL650. (4 stroke single) Never was a better bike for doing wheelies stop light to stop light!

It's a question of what are you gonna use it for, how often, and stuff like that. Just like, I wouldn't expect anyone that is not a full time mechanic to have a tool box like mine. The retail price of my main tool box that I bought back in the late 90's was $7400.00 and no that did not include any tools.
Unless someday I buy a house with a wood burning fireplace, I'll never have a really badass chainsaw like that.

I agree. I could get by with a Poulan saw just fine for my needs. Unless I can get an equal priced, lightly used, Stihl, I don't really feel I need one
