Hey Jim, check it out, preppin' for the 32" light bar install.

N-Fab Light Bar Mounting System. Installed it this past sunday. I'm also trying to figure out a way to get my Thule Roof basket mounted so I can mout the 42" light bar I have to that. I am dangerously close to the maximum height of the garage here at work, and may be F'd if I install a lift. I might have to go with brackets that attach to the OEM roof rack rails. Which I feel would not be as sturdy. The other option is to sell the Thule rack and buy another type that is shorter. The Thule adds 6" to the height of the truck with the OEM roof rack.

That N-Fab mounting system was after doing a lot of research and following @smugly lead on it. Once attached it is solid as Sears.

That does it. If you can't take care of your things then you don't deserve to have them.
Seriously though, what happened that caused a ding in the hood?

Life. Damn commuting down I-95 I guess. Not a ding, just more a tiny chip, about the size of a half a grain of rice. But of course to me it looks like someone dropped a jack hammer on it.

I used this pen/brush that I got from the dealer. It worked pretty well and I didn't put clear coat on it. Try it wit out and see what you think and if you feel it needs it then put the clear coat on. Gotta dry between steps anyway.

I had Yakima towers and a basket on top of my truck a while ago, and it was hella tall. but I was able to mount a 32 to that no probs. let's see if I can dig up old pics...
    Edit:
20180627_202026.jpgare you looking for something like this?
I removed it all for a prinsu cause lower height and slimmer profile.

Jesus! That looks like that is up thee about 12" over the roof line. I have the OEM roof rack and the Thule Canyon basket. The basket attaches to the cross bars. I did some research only so far and I came up with this

    Tacoma Height = 70.6"
    OEM Roof Rack = 3"
    Thule Canyon = 6"
    +2 Tires = 1"

    Total = 80.6" (6' - 8.5")

Garage at work........ 6' - 8" at the stupid hanging entry warnings. I plan on physically measuring around inside the garage. :frusty::frusty::frusty:

If it measures 7' then I can still do a mild lift but I may have to come up with another plan. I am installing weatherproof wire connectors at the light so I can remove the entire basket and light together.

My other option is to mount the light bar to the OEM roof rack like I originally intended and then only use the basket when I need it and won't be parking in a garage. Then at least I can run the truck to work in the winter with both light bars on the truck like I would want to.

I would go with a Prinsu or a similar rack but I like using the sun roof in both the open and popped up positions when I am at the beach. But I have considered it. They are bad ass!

yea it was a tall mofo, which is why I didn't keep it for long, i could feel the difference in sway and it terrified me lmao. I also debated for those mounts when I temporarily had one racks but ultimately opted for prinsu.
I'm like 75% sure a sunroof would still work with a prinsu as the prinsu's bars are moveable/removal
if you already have lights in the grille, I would go for a lift, much more fun!

I have to consider the amount of time I will use it too. Right now, only when I go to the beach to put the beach items in that don't fit in the bed. It's amazing how much crap we take with us for week. But things like beach chairs, toys, and a couple fans is all. The bed is full with suitcases, and coolers. Then road trip gear goes in the back seat area. So as much as I would like a Prinsu, I am saving for a lift first. Once I have the need though it will definitely be a consideration. I can always use a permanent place for more lights right?

Yea, exactly what I am going for. Love it! Looks bad ass! I'm puttin' in two Auxbeam 5D Dual Beams. I already have Xenon Depot Extreme Pro LEDs and Morimoto Fogs. Ditch lights are on tap too eventually. Then I want some up top pointing backwards. And I am really interested in the light pod rear bumper instal @Parker315 and some other guys have done. I like lights. :D

Hello fellow Inferno enthusiats, glad to see a whole post dedicated to my favorite color taco! Got mine a little over a month ago and couldn't be happier, wanted a pro but they don't make it in inferno so I'm adding pro parts as I go, so far grille, fogs, and tails are changed, just picked up the fox suspension from another member on here as well, gonna make my own Inferno Pro lol.IMG_20180523_201914.jpg

Should’ve invested the money you spent on the pro suspension for a lift/better suspension!!

Scuff with a scotch-brite pad until the entire surface looks kind of dull. Then wipe it all down with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue and start painting. Wear some latex gloves so you can handle it with out getting skin oils on the surface before you paint.
