What I get a lot are giant chevys, Dodges and Fords with a 6 inch lift, giant tires and giant exhaust coming up and tailgating me when I am already going 80.

I wasn’t aware those companies made a vehicle that could go that fast without breaking down.

Dude, my old Subaru Outback was a magnet for those kinda knuckleheads. Generally, when it comes to the full size lifted truck guys and Tacomas, I think it's more like a crocodile Dundee "That's not a knife" kinda thing.

I too find it's always Dodge trucks, the ones that have been and keep getting recalled over and over for bursting into flames that have to tailgate me. I'm going the speed limit and sometimes well over but they're still on my ass. What gives?

I park in the very last spot as well to avoid door dings. The very few times I've had someone park right next to me it was either a coworker F'n with me (they know it bugs the hell out of me) or someone with a decent, dent free vehicle. Luckily we have so many dependapotomuses that will circle the BX/NEX parking lot for 20 min to get one of the spots right up front I don't have to worry about it much on base. Off base is another story... The lots are usually too small for the traffic, and the lines are painted for Geo Metros. Need sliders ASAP...

    wrong.
if its high that means its doors might be above side steps/sliders

smaller cars are safer they open door they're just hitting my slider

i try to park far too though.

honestly many times its not even because I dont want cars beside me, but the spots in the city now days are getting so fucking small my truck can barely fit so I park far to avoid people being too close and because i dont feel like wasting time trying to find a spot closer that I wont be able to fit in because my tires are just about on the line and I want to be able to open my doors nevermind someone dinging my truck. I know the nearest grocery store to my girlfriends when we go shopping I have to park far, they redid half the parking lot and all the new spots closest to the building I cant fit in, I've tried I'll be over the line. So I have to stay in the far spots, and if they end up redoing those well guess I'll just be taking two spots...

all the municpal parking lots here have two lines for each spot sort of like a box, its supposed to be you park between the two inner lines and the foot between that line and the other line for the next spot is to ensure you have space to open yours doors. only my truck and all trucks for that matter and most SUV can't even fit within those spots as we're too wide. and since parking space is worth millions they want to maximize how many cars they can fit, which means many trucks dont fit.

I actually had a similar incident with my nephew, though he actually hit the vehicle.

Sister and I went to a baseball game with her 2 kids. When we got parked, I told everyone to stay in the car until I let them out. (Tight spaces) and it was fine. After the winning game was over and the excitement didn't made me think about doing them same thing earlier when we got out. Everyone piled into the car and nephew was the last and he just opened the door like nothing was next to us. *thud into SUV* I chewed his ass out about respect for other vehicles and explained why I told them to wait while I let them out at the beginning.

It is truly aggravating when others can't respect your vehicle. You may not care about yours, but I care about mine. I didn't see any damage on the SUV thankfully and the folks weren't around for me to make him apologize. Woulda stayed as a lesson to teach, but it was a week day and work in am, no time to wait.

I'd rather get whipped, tarred and feathered. She's 80 and gripes about all her aches and pains but turn her loose in a store, she becomes the bionic woman. Need paper towels..okay. Need milk...okay. Need kleenex..okay back to paper goods. Need cottage cheese..back to dairy. She makes me crazy. Yeah I know. She taught me how to use a spoon but still. :)

I had a guy swing his door open and strike my truck at the gas station the other day with me still inside. I don't think he damaged anything but it sure did annoy me.
