I knew that was coming, but I don't want to go aftermarket on this truck just yet until it's paid off, it's the first new vehicle I have had in years. I don't plan on anything drastic with it, small changes with parts that Toyota/TRD makes, besides I paid less then a lift would have been and I don't have to modify the uca or anything else.

Understandable. What’s the reason for not wanting to go aftermarket? And you don’t need UCA’s if you’re lifting your truck! Depends on how much of course. To each his own though I was just curious.

If I use parts that Toyota made it's warrantied, I have a 5 year on it, so I'm trying to not mess with aftermarket parts until the warranty is over, as long as I install Toyota parts they will fix it if need be, while they normally won't warranty work not done by them I have friends at my dealer to get around that. Also any lift I want requires ucas and a bunch of extras, just don't want the headache like I had with my FJ, changing the drive shaft angles, the ucas, etc etc, I plan on having the taco for years and years, when she is a bit older and I have gotten my use of what is on it I will tear into it. For now I want to keep it slightly stock without the nose diving under brake suspension that comes on the OR, and a few cosmetic changes since I'm not a fan of chrome.

Totally understandable. Just so you know just because you install aftermarket parts on it doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed under warranty if something goes wrong. If you’re not familiar with it yet, read the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

I know all about that, but if the aftermarket parts fails it's not covered, being that I'd be putting in something Toyota made it's covered. I found out about the Magnuson Moss act when I was building civics lol, dealerships try to get out of it but if you bring that up they can't do anything about it unless they can prove it was the aftermarket parts that caused the issue

Love your choice of color. I thought I wanted a Pro also but I'm glad the way things worked out for me. Hey it's your truck. You do things the way you want. I don't answer to anyone except myself.

Ok, so drove the truck to work the other day and then again today. I keep a tape measure in there and with the sun roof it is super easy to take measurements from the top of the roof rack to the beams and other parts of the structure, like the height limit bar at the entrance. I can do this without getting out which keeps me from looking like a building inspector or a nut job LOL.

So, fro the most part, all the beams where there is maximum room are practically 12" above the OEM roof rack. t the areas where the ramp part of the floor ties into the flat part of the floor that is where that distance drops to about 10"! Today entering the garage I quickly threw the tape out the sun roof and measure 10" there too.

So I am not sure what measurements are wrong but seems to me I should be good to go with the 6" roof basket and up to at least a full 3" lift. I will lay a drywall framing square on the top of the roof rack and measure from the floor of my garage up. It's possible the dimension I am seeing online for the height of the Taco is not right.

Now I can proceed to install the Thule Canyon basket and then the 42" light bar to it.
