Personally I just sleep in the common 2 person style that everyone's using. The extra room is definitely nice and you can get a good diagonal lay with the right pitch so your back is flatter. Mine is a Hobo Hammock

man thats a lot of weight on your rear end, is there a problem with first generation frames cracking? Seems like I had to weld some fish plates on a 1st Gen frame once (it was before I was a Toyota guy)

It is a lot of weight, and I have frame reinforcement plates on, but a 1st gen is totally up to it. With a good set of Alcan leafs, my rake is great. That photo makes the rear look lower than it really is, since the skids up front are resting on packed snow.

I have the coordinates of a helicopter crash up in the Uinta if you would like to go check it out, there are still pieces of the blades lodged in tree trunks and ball bearings and other small parts scattered throughout. Everyone survived so you can take stuff, just don't mess with the blades cause they are carbon fibre and when it gets in you it will work its way to the bone.

    Yes.
Spent a couple of nights in the Pike National Forest last weekend. Found a surprisingly clean campsite between the road and the river. Enjoyed the sound of many small waterfalls created by countless generations of beaver as they expertly terraced the valley floor. A bit breezy most of the time and I awoke to find frost on the truck Saturday morning.

Saturday, I rode my mountain bike far above treeline, inspecting the mining ruins along the way. C-130s were practicing low-altitude runs through South Park that morning. That night an odd-sounding helicopter was flying up & down the valleys.

Wind and rain were moving in by noon on Sunday. Unfortunately, the rains quickly dissipated. Fortunately, the accompanying lightning didn't create any fires.

This was how the morning sun greeted me this AM. Owens Valley to the west and Saline to the east.
