Who has them, how are they? Where do I get one?

I really just want to totally skip all this shim nonsense and just fix the problem before it gets worse as I keep adding things to mah taco.

I've read that the double Cardan is much more flexible (no pun intended) on what angles it will tolerate and as such it's the superior choice.

You have a prerunner, you are supposed to have a double shaft cardan.

I had a single piece drive shaft from them with a double cardan. It was good till I regeared and the shaft had to spin much faster to achieve the same highway speed.

I ended up designing my own two piece drive shaft with a double cardan joint right behind the stock carrier bearing. This was the best solution in my opinion and the one I still run today.

I created a thread that has a LOT of info in it and a lot of experiences from multiple people. Do some reading in there and I think you'll find what you need.

Yes! A two piece drive shaft with double cardan joint! That's what I'm looking for.

You say you designed your own? How did you have it manufactured?

Read the thread. It has all the info you need. I had a local drive shaft place essentially splice in a double cardan joint in place of the normal single joint in the OEM drive shaft.

Whoa that sounds crazy. I don't have a spare to play with though, and as far as I am aware we don't have draft shaft shops. That does sound cool though, I'm going to have to ask around.

So, Just in case I am mistake, does Tom Woods not sell the post bearing double Cardan shaft?

I'm sure you have a drive shaft shop local to you. What's your zip?
And you are correct, Tom Woods does NOT sell a two piece drive shaft. I'm not sure why that is but I asked last year when doing mine.

30096 is generally the area that I'm roaming around in

After doing some more research, I found two over by Atlanta, which I try to avoid going there if I can, anyway the only problem with those is that both of them had questionable reviews and I wasn't really sure about it.

This company claims to have a Tacoma shaft with CV after carrier:

    http://www.driveshaftsuperstore.com/CUSTOM_Toyota_drive_shafts.htm

Following this thread because this is the exact fix I was considering:
    1. I have tall gears
    2. I have a 4"lift but then I put a FWC in the bed and it changes the pinon by a huge amount so I can't fix vibes on both sides loaded and unloaded.
    3. I don't want to cut out the carrier cross member to fit a 1 piece that might not fix my issue.

So I started thinking about this CV after the carrier and BAM this thread showed up!

    I don't it must be model specific. I have 6lugs 4x4
So, those with a CV can I maybe just buy a Toyota version for a different model??

I'm going to have to pull the driveshaft and measure length then see what Toyota part numbers are out there.

Anyone with a CV after the carrier feel like looking at your part # and post?

I'm going to bet there will be a length difference from gen1 to gen2.
But still would like to know the part #.
    Thanks

Let me know if you call them...group of 2 buy??

But really I am doing a little more research since people keep saying Toyota has driveshaft with CV. I emailed that company but no reply yet so after I research I might call them.
