Thought I lived in one of the safest places in the country. Then I wake up to this. Almost $3k in damages and three of my toolboxes ripped off.
I usually make of point of bringing valuables in, but one day I was lazy and this is the result.
Thanks to insurance, this is only costing me about 500, plus a week without a truck.

Everything changes from now on though. Just got security cams. Never leaving anything valuable or potentially valuable-looking in the truck.

For anyone out there who's still lazy about security and insurance with these beautiful eye-catching trucks we own, let this be a lesson!

That sucks man. I remember when my FJ got broken into about 5 years ago on a quick trip to the grocery store. The area was supposed to be a good area. I forgot my phone in my car and was shocked to see broken glass everywhere when I came out. It happened in broad daylight around noon.

That glass sucks to clean up. I still find a piece or two here vacuuming years later.

F'ing meth heads! There's a house with a few methy looking trolls near here. I think it was them but have zero proof. It was probably someone who had a reason to be in the back alley, i.e someone local.

There is no such thing as a safe place, just areas that have a few less tweekers than others. These scumbags only care about where their next fix comes from.

I never lock my SL500, what's the point of locking a convertible, even if the top is up:

    I’m sorry this happened.

The best and cheapest security is your own garage or renting one. Seriously, do the math. Rarely does a garaged vehicle get broken into.

Why can't happenstance fuck useless idiots more often? People too lazy to gets jobs then robbing people of shit that do have jobs. CACA! Kharma needs to catch up on this kind of shit. OP has one lapse of usual habit and this shit happens but people too lazy to go to work get by at other people's expense all the fucking time, way too often. Just senseless bullshit. Then if you catch them in the act and shoot them or beat them down then you are the one in trouble because of what someone else initiated. Garbage. Can kharma send us an email when it finally takes care of nonsense like this so you would know it happened and have more faith in it working for you once in awhile? It'd sure be nice.

Absolutely. Working on finding a place with a garage as we speak. It would make life so much easier. JUst leave my tools in the rig, also all my camping stuff in the back, never have to load/unload, just fire up and go.

Totally. And to steal a guy's tools FFS. That's a special kind of lowlife. I'm lucky enough to be able to replace things, but for most people tools=livelihood.
