That’s not bad. I never OC’d my desktop i7 4790k - but I believe I used the tuner in the bios and it went up to 4.4-4.5GHz.

That’s your old gaming PC? That’s a pretty nice i7 you got in there.

My 2012 MBP is still running strong. I’m looking to replace it though, it’s starting to show signs of age.

Now the question is should I get another MBP, or get a windows laptop. Hmm.

New MacBooks are nice, but you can’t change anything anymore. My gen was the last year with the removable drives, and RAM. Next gen it was only a removable NVME SSD, and after that it was nothing. You can’t change anything.

So I’m looking for a 2015-2016ish MacBook Pro with 16GB and the smallest SSD so I can upgrade it with a 1TB Samsung 840 Pro.

I understand the Samsung 840 vs 850 vs 860 have a huge difference in price, and that seems to be because of the data transfer rate. But I was always curious if that cost vs. performance is really noticeable.

I have a nice Meade telescope we bought like 14 years ago, I never actually used it to look at planets. I used it during the day as a really long range pair of Binoculars to look at the toll plaza of the highway about 20 miles away from me. Haha.

That thing was cool. It had this onboard computer that can find stars and planets.

I went to a party last night and one of my buddies showed up with a 1999 PreRunner ext. cab - it looked exactly like mine did when it was stock, albeit much more worn out because it was a work truck.

Yeah I got a little excited/nostalgic and I see this on Snapchat this morning. Haha.

And this is why I wish I had a Quadro when I'm doing video editing, only so much the processor can do when it comes time to render

Quadros aren’t that expensive. You can pick one up for $100-200 for the last gen ones.
