    Hey guys,

Got approved for the frame recall and curious to what people have experienced going through this process. Thoughts on things I should consider doing while they have it apart? Any surprises? Positive or negative experiences? Thanks

I have a 2006 TRD Off Road but it only has about 45,000 miles on it. I feel like my rear suspension sucks which was disappointing because I bought this as my first Tacoma with a whole lot of excitement and expectation.

What other parts should I be looking at that could be "worn" that would be beneficial to consider replacing while they work on the frame? Its a 12 year old truck with low miles. Thanks

Maybe ask your dealership about the rear leaf recall? If you haven't already. My dealership called me and booked me in; it wasn't a hassle whatsoever, and was free - they didn't even charge me the extra amount that they needed to work around the rear sway bar that I put in.

It has the replacement leaf pack already. It sounds rough just going over a speed bump empty which is crazy to me. I asked the dealer to look at the shocks but they said everything was fine. I don't know if they actually did because I had a long list of things I was concerned about and wonder if they mainly just looked at the leaf pack. Its hard when playing telephone with a front desk person to mechanic and then back. I want to learn more about my truck so I can do some things myself but also have a knowledge base to tell if I can trust the dealer or not at times.

I’m replacing all engine hoses , thermostat , going with Energy Suspension body mounts and sway bar bushings . Possibly a new fuel pump and upgraded alternator.

They originally told it was going to take like 2-3 months for the frame to come in but it came in like a week later and they called me right away to get me in. So I got the new frame on and everything went smooth, nice shiny new frame and the dealer did not surprise me with added costs. It happened so fast that I never got the chance to do anything else so just got the frame done at this point. Got to try out a new 4runner for a few days. I had always wanted a 2nd/3rd gen 4runner before I got my tacoma. They did switch my rotors or something because I have some major steering wheel shake when I brake at high speeds but I knew I had to deal with my brakes and rotors soon from when looking at the frame. Just did not shake that bad and so now I have to do it ASAP.
