I'm requesting some advice or guidance on how to handle this issue. I had my 5,000 mile oil change last week, which is exactly the amount of miles on my Taco, and what do I hear the day before? The infamous squeak with a creek. Fast forward week later(today), I drop off the truck at the dealership so they can check out the issue and 8 hours later I call for an update. They told me that it will be a couple more days, because they are waiting for representatives from Toyota to take a look at the truck to see how they want to proceed. I'm thinking WTH, I've had this truck 5 months! I've been researching the issue on this sight, which was extremely helpful, but Is there any recourse for the consumer on these deals. I splurged and spent close to $40,000 dollars on this vehicle, which is way more then I have ever spent on a truck. I loved the truck but its tarnished for me, the squeaking sounds like the truck is 15 years old. It got progressively worse within a week. no telling what other problems will arise after reading the issues with 3r Gens. I mean is asking for a A refund or money off or even a new truck out of the question. As a consumer I'm pissed. Im currently researching Lemon Laws in case of the need to use it, but that sounds like a mess.

probably leaf spring pads, there is a TSB on this. Take it to another dealership, some dealerships are really horrible.

I had a squeak in the rear door panel from a miss-installed clip. Fixed it myself without any stress. If you search around there's a very enjoyable youtube video that showed me how.

My rear cab mounts started to squeak. I checked them with a torque wrench. In about 5min, I was happy.

My leaves started to squeak after running through a high pressure car wash. A half hour jacking the frame, pulling the wheels, and using a pry bar to easily separate the leaves while spraying in some dry lube has me happy for a month or so now.

What I'm saying is that DIY equals happiness, even though my dealer has been great so far.

Is it a rule that all posts about problems with a Tacoma include the phrase "$40,000 truck"

And now you want to lemon law it because the leaf springs squeak.

Well I got news for ya. You wont ever win a lemon law case for that. They will fix the squeaking and give you the truck back.

I had the "Tacoma squeaky leaf springs" mentioned it to the dealer, on my next more or less "free" Toyota Care appointment, they put pads between them. No biggie, super easy

They'll take care of you. Not describing where it's coming from or complaining that the price paid plays a factor doesn't get helpful responses. An 18k Corolla will get the exact treatment you'll get on your Tacoma. Once Toyota starts refusing warranty claims, then it's ok to complain.

The body mounts settle in and can squeak. Simple job to torque them, as noted in my original post. There should be no head scratching / investigation needed over this.

Op you gota relax, I know its a expensive truck but in my 30+ years as a mechanic at dealerships and for myself, every brand domestic and foreign vehicle's have recalls or issues, some more than others. As for getting money back or a new truck, good luck with that. Have a cool head with these guys and believe me it will get you farther than screaming acting like an ahole. Im sure they will fix it and make it right. If you don't like this dealer bring it to another one.

Sounds like the sound is coming from somewhere between the steering wheel and the seat lol

Just kidding. Like other members stated, just take it to another dealer. Leaf springs can be noisy. Especially on these Tacoma’s

Its all good with me. Sometimes you get helpful constructive criticism and sometime you get the occasional smarty pants. They helped me realize this isn't a big issue right now. No worries.

Wait until they keep it 38 days because they don't have parts to fix it..... just give you a enterprise rent a car to drive while your truck sits on their lot. No compensation other than the rental and the repair, oh and it's leaking again.... so they will fix it again. It's a pain in the ass considering I bought my truck for work, not just a shiny toy. Life goes on, just remember the dealer didn't build it, but they are stuck cleaning up Toyota motor corp mistakes with the quality control from the factory.

I say do it. OP may be over-reacting but not nearly as bad as some of these too "well known members".
