Mine came set at zero and I plan on setting them at zero with the 881's. You could probably use a flat blade screwdriver to move the snap ring.

at first i thought zero too now im not so sure. took my before measurements yesterday and it looks like im sitting 1-1/2" lower than stock in the rear (so i'm expecting a total of 3-1/2" lift with the 5pack leafs) and the front is only about 1/2" lower than stock. it seems that im going to see a much bigger height difference in the rear than the front, thats why i'm thinking of moving the fronts up a notch.

Take a pill. Or have a cocktail. Or something.

The lowest setting (zero) is farthest down from the coil seat (black thingy). The higher you set it, the harsher the ride. However...

Remember that the 5100s were designed to provide lift with the original Toyota coils, which are progressive (softer at the top) and had I think a 375 pound rating. The OMEs are not progressive and have a 500 lb rating. Furthermore, the OME coil spring itself is designed to provide the lift (as opposed to the Bilstein strut). So, ideally, you set the Billies at 0 and let the coil do the lift. This should provide the best ride quality with this combination of parts. And this should also put you at about stock rake or less (~1 inch lower in front, as I have very recently learned) with your truck. My truck will have less rake with the same setup because I have the cap and a heavy rubber mat in the back (~200 lb). I have spent the last 48 hours figuring this out. Can you tell? :typing:

Oh, and to move the steel ring on the Billies, you just swing your purse real hard at it.

Pill? Cocktail? I tried both, several in fact and it did no good. Tossed and turned all night stressing over the decision. Sigh. Its going to be a long day. But a good Day!

And what makes you think that I'm like most girls and carry around a 400lb purse? Really? Seriously? The only way any purse of mine would qualify for that would be if I had wrenches and sockets tucked away inside!

I'm heading off for the install! Wish me luck!:burnrubber:

Just put the 5100's on it was a piece of cake, stock height in the front was 35 3/4 from center of wheel to bottom of trd fender flair, front and rear now sits at 37" all around (only have a 4 pack in the rear). I had the 5100s set at the middle level, truck needs a front end alignment. The ride IS GREAT! I was expecting it to be rough, but not at all! Better than the monroe sensa-trac's that I had on my old 98.

Just a tip for you guys when reinstalling the stut/spring assy, it may be tough to get the lower bolt in, but what made it EASY was when I took my 1/2 breakerbar and layed it on top of the upper control arm, the handle of the breakerbar was under the upper control arm mount (in the 1/2"-3/4" space between the UCA and the part where it mounts to the truck), once the breaker bar is in there put a big pipe on the socket end and push down, within a few seconds you can slip that bolt right in (easier if you have 2 people), this is the safest and quickest way I have done, can easily be done in 25-30 minutes per side in your garage.

My front is a little high, but when it will be really good when I put the snow plow on (~550 lbs)

just dropped by baby off at the shop for phase 2....felt like a jackass riding around with the rear end hiked up in the air. squeaky too, might have to turn the music up louder for awhile until that subsides.

will put up pics tonight if there is time...first things first i need to go on a test run!

Your gonna love the ride. Is he also doing a front end alignment? If so I wonder if camber kit is needed? Mines pretty out of whack for only 1.25 in the front.

    Nice.

Just curious, because I can't tell from your profile (oops, yes I can, sort of):
    1. 2004/how many miles?
    2. V6 (yes)
    3. Did you get front coils, too, or just put the Billies on with the original coils?
    4. Any before pix?

okay long story short...sort of...I had to take the company car in for its weekly nail removal. Its a shop that I normally don't go to but they take great care of our company fleet. While I was waiting I was talking with the guys, their eyes actually lit up a bit when I mentioned fancy words like "Bilstein" and "Alcan" so I thought this is good. Asked them for a quote to put the front end together and do an alignment they gave me a price and told me they could do it in an afternoon. My friend and I did the rear work this morning and dropped it off for the front end at 2pm for my appointment. Called at 430 and they told me "its more involved than we originally thought" and the truck isn't done. So here I sit, surfing TW, when I could be out cruising around having fun.

The moral of the story is if any of you are having your front ends done at a shop don't believe them if they tell you it will be done in 2 hours!

140k miles. Coils are stock, 5100s at mid setting, ride is amazing.
Truck 100% stock when I bought it:

Thanks, man. Sheesh, my 2001 as only 106k miles, and the front was so low and crappy, I convinced myself I needed OME coils instead of just putting the Billies on the tired original coils...hmmm...but I have a cap on the back, and yours looks a little high on front...hmmm...

It would have looked better with a 5 pack in the rear but I wanted a better ride. You should put those coils on ebay and use the stock coils, or else I would imagine you will be level like my truck is. I like the rake look but I needed the front higher to compensate for the plow. The front is still really soft but yet very responsive, I think with those thicker coils its gonna ride harder.
