Lift it, and wheel the f*$k out of it. Really though, just use it as designed. These trucks are very capable from the factory. Bang for buck, take a road trip, run some trails and have a great time.

    Old guys always say this.

    “This is my last vehicle”.

Not true. Just accept it, have fun, move to the next one.

HA! I remember my old man say the same thing when he brought home a shiny new pickup when he was about the same age. He's 81 now, and now 4 trucks later lol...looking for a new one.

I keep telling him he should buy a Toyota, his 99 4Runner still gets him around lol.

    Hasn't.

You mean your last truck ever? Anything you’re doing on that TRD OR? Details on your pleasure with it? Thanks for the note.

Just start modding, you can't take the money with you when your gone. Your son would just use it for parts anyway.

I bought my first new Toyota truck, a 4x4, in 1979 when I was 33. I just bought my fifth Toyota truck, a 2018 SR5, and plan on at least one more if not two. To the OP, do what you want to yours and enjoy it.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
    I love my Tacoma
First off-- you are not old -- why? -- I ain't, and I got you beat in "age". I really like my 17 Tacoma -- use it every day for some heavy duty stuff. already hauled 6-7 cords of oak and walnut firewood (I cut and split as well). Also landscape rocks and other materials. Get out and enjoy it -- good trucks!!

Makes me a think a pill organizer on the dashboard might be a nice accessory, though maybe not the cool factor I’m looking for.

Suspension upgrade and maybe some tires/wheels? That was the first thing I did. My dad drives a raptor, his favorite thing on that truck is the automatic running boards that come down when the doors open. I’m sure they’re made for Tacoma’s too.
