I think she’s taken to this spot not just because it’s comfy but because the boys can’t sneak up on her.

She’s very loving with my daughter & I but barely tolerates Ollie & Harry.

Well I stopped by the shelter to see that white mama kitty that I posted earlier. Turns out she doesn’t do too well with other cats, which wouldn’t be a problem, but they won’t let me trade in my wife’s cat for her. That’s the bad news, is that she probably wouldn’t do well. The good news is that someone else is interested in giving her a good home, so I don’t feel bad for her.

The really good news is that they have a 4-month-old kitten that seems to like me pretty well. She had just arrived at the shelter today so she was still in the quarantine area of the shelter, but I’m going back to see her tomorrow now that she’s medically cleared to move in with the other cats. If it looks like she gets along well with others, she’ll probably have a new home.

She’s all black, which I love, but so was my Bellatrix, who I lost last year. I’m a bit hesitant to get a ‘replacement’ who’s so similar to her. Has any of you had experience getting a new cat in similar circumstances?

 

My boys are Calvin and Hobbes. I would hope no pointing out which one is necessary for obvious reasons.

 

It is incorrect to assume the cats want firearms. While it seems that firearms would play an integral part to their global domination plans...




...cats prefer to kill us in ways that look like an accident, such as in our sleep by standing on our windpipes or tripping us at the top of the stairs.

They’re always two steps ahead.

 

I have and I have found that while they may have a physical resemblance their personalities are what really makes them so different. No two are alike, that’s what makes them so great.

Well hip surgery number two down. He’s doing great 5 weeks out. Walking and running again. He has a rare disease where his femoral neck breaks easily when he is playing or running. So they remove it. Interesting procedure but he’s doing great with 2 false hips!

 

Interesting.

I do have experience in the replacement dilemma. When we had to say good bye to our baby girl Maxine we we’re devistated beyond explanation. Numb is the best word for it. Best cat we have ever had hands down- our first Siamese. As the months passed we both felt that something was missing in our lives and considered adopting again but feared that it was an injustice to Max somehow. We both justified it by saying max would be happy knowing we took in and loved another and we knew that whatever cat we got it wouldn’t be about a comparison to her. Because of her we were taken by the breed and then we met Suki. Nothing like max but we love her every bit the same. A year later we adopted Louisa and then this year we lost our pink nosed tabby cat Albert (Maxie’s brother) and shortly after we adopted Amos. Now we have our house full of siamonsters and we never intended to become Siamese people. It all started with Max and all of our kitties now should be thankful to her for making such an amazing impression of Siamese cats. You’ll look into his or her eyes and you’ll know if it’s right. At that point it makes what now seems a difficult decision very easy. Sorry for the novel just passionate about my cats
