What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Oof, that's a lot for not a lot of load. That kick on the light.

 

I don't have a trans temp light. 2004 model doesn't have one in the dash.

That's weird, my 02 has one. Though it's inoperable cause manual!

 

tacoma light doesn't kick on till 300 degrees haha so..worthless really.

 

300!? It's over cooked by that time.

yeah..i know. Its either 300 or 270...either way. Way past gone.

yeah really anything over 230-240 is not good.

hmmm my truck gets to 204* looks like im going to get that 3 core champion radiator real soon.

 

talking tranny temps.

Though if your engine temps are that high..also not good.

204 is a little high but not terrible.

 

Trans temp, is what I’m almost positive we’re talking about.

 

I think only 4x4s have them. I don't have one either on my 01. If I do, I've never seen it turn on & I can't see where in the cluster it would be.

 

nope its my coolant temps on my ultragauge

 

Thats really not that bad.

 

Wish I lived near more BLM land. There’s two SVRA’s within a two hour drive but BLM land is pretty sparse until you drive way up North.

 

Is the difference noticeable?

 

Is there a way to monitor trans temp on pre-2001 trucks? I plugged the trans temp code into my Scangauge, but it told me the transmission was -39.9 degrees Fahrenheit. Safe to say it isn’t very accurate.

 

I took it for a spin. I noticed a difference for sure.

 

We definilty have tons of Public Land to enjoy. I’ve said it one I’ll say it again, you should go to school out of state, see some stuffs, probably cheaper too.
