I just got the 4S 111T standard load 245/75r16. They are nice and quiet on the road, much better than my worn out set of 265/75r16 AT3’s. I’ve only taken them on dry dirt roads and on windy highway through the mountains but they handled great. Hooked up nicely in the dirt and it took some effort to get them to spin. They also hugged the road through corners on the highway. Really happy with them so far for the money.

Have you had problems with SL tires in the past?

If you had, you would know it.

My 265/70/16 AT3 4S should be in today, hopefully can get them mounted this weekend and get a good test drive in road/dirt/gravel and I'll get a full review up in the next couple of weeks. Crazy you still can't find a single review anywhere on the interwebs on these tires. I'm just glad I found these before I pulled the trigger on Falkens. ...maybe. will see how they handle soon enough!

It was rainy this week and my stock wranglers were slipping all over the place. they haven't been terrible tires for the first 25k but at 30k I'm definitely seeing uneven wear, loss of wet traction (which wasn't great to begin with), and my tight steering has gotten looser w more body roll. getting new shoes is like getting a new truck!

I posted them up in the falken thread. I figured I'd want to know about them if I was considering falkens. The Cooper's hadn't ever even been on my radar because of the boring sidewalls. Once they changed them, that was the missing piece. The tires themselves have always been good. I only have 1200 miles on my stock tires, but I think these are worth upgrading for. I really want the taller size.

@Discount Tire Direct must have a buttload of the old AT3’s because they still haven’t listed the new ones. Guessing they are trying to clear out old stock before everyone jumps to the new versions. Kinda pissed I have to call or go to the store to order them vs. clicking and going about my day. 1st world problems...

Yeah, i'm with you. But calling them did work... its just taking a few days to get them here. Indeed they want to burn through the old AT3s and that's likely why the interwebs buzz on these is still very quiet.

Tacomaworld costs me a lot of money, but occasionally it also saves me some money. I know Discount Tire isn't going to date a receipt 7/1 so I'm gonna hold off mounting til Monday and save a few bucks! Thanks for the head's up

I don't need new tires, but if you keep posting, you're going to make me pull the trigger early, lol.

Is your dog a black and tan? Looks nice and mellow.

    Check My Sig.
I have a pair of 275/70/17 of the old style for sale in San Diego if anyone is interested in a spare or extra tires. Pm me if interested.

These tires are great! They work well in the rain and have a good road mileage. I went to 285s in something more aggressive but really enjoyed the miles I got on my AT3s.

I was all set to buy some falken but now reading this I’m thinking I’ll go with the 4s version.

Haha, I was too! When I called the tire shop to order some Falkens the guy suggested the 4S, which I hadn’t even heard of yet. He highly recommended them and they actually came out to less than the Falkens would have, even before the $70 rebate on the 4S’s.

On another note, I got to test how well they handle hard braking today. Someone stopped in the middle of a 2 lane highway in front of me as I was going 60mph downhill and I had to slam on the brakes to avoid them. The ABS kicked in and I though the tires might lock up but they didn’t even screech, and slowed me down with room to spare! Pretty satisfied with these tires so far.

Thanks in part to this thread I just pulled the trigger on these. Tire buyer has a $50 off code today (TBJULY50) and using ebates (4.5% rebate) and cooper tires has a $70 rebate. Price after the $50 off instant was $548 plus a $73 installation fee it’ll be a total of $621. I’m getting $24 back from ebates and $70 back from the cooper rebate so all together it’ll end up being less than $530. Not a bad price!

I can’t see these being a bad tire at all based on all the good reviews of the standard at3.
