Went through that about 5 years ago. Stressful.

 

Anybody been to Carolina Beach, NC area? Likes/dislikes? Things to do/recommendations?

 

I think there's a turtle rescue out there little man may like.

 

I think I saw that on their visitor website...the area looks pretty touristy.

 

Brewery (Good Hops) over by the State Park is good. We camped at the state park and it was a 13 min walk from our campsite to the brewery. They also have a short disc golf course on site that you can play while you drink.

Can camp with your vehicle there, too. Was reading about it and Cape Lookout since that's the two places being discussed in the beach camping meat meet.

One of my dislikes is it's very touristy and can be busy during the season. But the USS North Carolina battleship is in the area, you have an aquarium near by, what Timmay said about the sea turtles, Wilmington is close for creature comforts. There is some good fishing around in the slews bring your yak!!!

I have to go there and grab some stuff that Bi-Lo near me doesn’t have so I plan to grab a couple. May need to make a couple trips like you did.

 

Yea give us a shout if you’re gonna be in town. Carolina Beach is mobbed out this time of year but it’s a really cool spot if you don’t mind being around a lot of people. @dan0mite
