1st Gen Wheel Fit Confirmation Please

Cross post from Whee's and Tires board. I'm putting this here because I got no responses over there (I posted less than 24hrs ago, but I'm impatient and want to get new wheels soon)

Anyway....

I've been running the stock TRD 5 star ugly spiral wheels on my truck with 255 85 16 mud terrains forever. My wheels are all kinds of rock rashed. My front tires rub a bit when I'm at full lock.

I found these wheels on ebay. I can see they're 16", 6x5.5 bolt patter, 4 inch back space, -12 offset, 108mm center bore.

Edit: I'm planning on doing the Tundra brake swap with the 199mm caliper as well.

Am I missing something? Will these fit?

Not sure about the backspace, but everything else looks like it will fit. That's a great price too..might have to order a set myself

 

That may work but you'll likely still have rubbing on the frame at full lock. You might want to consider having a set of spacers handy just in case.

 

i'm okay with a little rubbing, currently I have quite a bit. Thanks for the response.

Not only do we have the best trucks of all the generations but we also have the best board on TW.

 

I've done the tundra brakes and been using 1.25" hubcentric bolt on spacers. Over the past almost year, on n off I browse for min trting to figure out what rim would fit n not rub the caliper. Well....just not it hit me. Since center bore, lugs, ect..the same. Why not when looking for rim when's asks what is ur vehicle, just tell or type in say a 02 tundra?
If the wheels fit tundra and not rub caliper, in theory they will fit ours and not rub.

That's awesome. I too just looked up some Procomp 69 series wheels for a tundra. I am picking up Monday after work, although I prob won't have time to get mounted till next Saturday.
After mounting though I will update with how much clearance there is....right now i do not have any rubbing issues n I'm running 295/75-16.

 

I currently have 255 85 16 Maxxis Big Horns. My next tire is probably going to be a Cooper ST MaXx in the same size. I'm driving to Baja for 2 weeks in November. The current debate is do I get new wheels and tires before then or wait till next spring. The Big horns are getting worn but still have a lot of life in them. My truck isn't my daily driver. I won't be driving it much after baja until March or April.

Procomp 69 series rims...when called 4wheel parts to order, I just told him they were for an 02 Tundra.

 

Again, just want to let know that I used the 199's....I want to say they are the WE calipers, but I don't remember off the top of my head. I have bout 3/8" maybe a hair more of clearance between rim and caliper.

 

So, I am trying to get Toyota 16s rims (not originally Tacoma’s, maybe 4runners?) to fit together with S13WE calipers and 199s rotors... and it fits!...but the gap between caliper and rim is not wider than an 1/8”.
Now here is when I show my fears...does the shape of the rim change enough (let’s say, when cornering at high speed), to start rubbing the caliper?
I guess I’ll test drive it, to find out!
By the way otis24, did you upgrade those brakes already?

 

I upgraded a few months ago. So far so good. They work really well compared to my old stock brakes. I also upgraded to steel braided brake lines.
