    winner winner chicken dinner. it was the differential actuator. it was shot. this worries me because this truck is less than a year old. in 4 days will be my trucks Birthday.

    I know it because I blew it myself, while drifting :anonymous:

    It was also a 1.5 years old truck.
    Shitty design on Toyota part, Fj transfer case is a good solution you can google it. My buddy swapped his recently and no more problems like that.

    I'm trying to understand this... OP said his diff actuator was shot. Is that not on the front diff?

    What does swapping the T-case have to do with it exactly?

    Maybe I missed something.. :notsure:

    Yeah, there's no confusion. (front) differential actuator wasn't working so they swapped it with a new one today.

    If you switch to FJ manual 4HI/LO stick shift case you bypass electronic shifting and don’t have front diff actuator that constantly blows and gets water in, buddy just did that swap (which is straightforward according to him) and we will be testing it on trails next weekend.

    @NeonHeights can explain in details the benefit of it, he has done it.

    But, you still have the ADD up front. Somehow, the two parts of the passenger side axle must be connected/disconnected. I understand what you mean by a manual Tcase, I kinda wish the Taco had one of those...

    You are right, I got to check on that, because my buddy was talking about complete elemintaion of it in the recent talks.
