    Good point(s).

I was excited with all the solar news and thinking that I might be able to potentially get off grid at some point. A couple online estimators laughed at me and said to not bother.

If Toyota goes diesel in anything it’ll be the tundra before the Tacoma.

When you think about how many people invest in 4runners and Tacoma’s for overlanding/off-road vehicles a diesel wouldn’t be practical. They’d be heavy as hell.

Yeah.... it’s just not feasible until a new generation of batteries comes to pass, than maybe...

That said we use LiCL (lithium choloride) to dry air as well.... the price has tripled these past few years due to the demand for Lithium for batteries...

This country is in for a whole lotta hurt if we don’t get our infrastructure right sooner than later.

My bad. I deleted it because it would just spark more controversy.

As for the Supra, I am slightly disappointed in the community. There are those who believe that the supra is going to be 2900 lbs. No way in fucking hell will it be 2900 unless it is completed stripped to the bare bones. If the rumors are true, they are using a old BMW iron block with Toyota Aluminum head. They are delusional over there.

Back in 1994, MKIV Twin Turbo Supra's were pushing 320 HP.
Now in 2019, MKV Twin Turbo Supra's are going to push 365 HP.

What a load of shit Toyota.

I’m gonna. Went through a divorce and job change. Opted for a Tacoma because it was cheaper and I liked my first gen. Also liked the looks of the 3rd gen. Never cared much for the second gens

    Agreed! We're crumbling right now.

Exactly. And the price is going to be astronomical.

I hear you, but the F-150 is too big for me. If only the Taco had a turbo 4.

Yup. Esp this far north. Maybe in the next gen?

Even down south it's tough. You have to give up a lot. Plus, by the time you pay for it, you have to replace it again. Right now, I have came to the conclusion that solar will actually cost you more and you will have less. Maybe someday.

I haven’t read all the pages in this post yet (made it to 7 of 9), but if diesel were to roll out, I could see the 4Runner or Tundra getting it first. The 4Runner is built in Japan and is badged as the Prado in other countries and I’d assume comes with a diesel in those countries. I’d think the most economic play and the most affordable play for Toyota would be to roll the diesel into the 4Runner since the designs for diesel are already incorporated into the Prado worldwide and then work the software to be compliant. They also use the same V8 engine stateside for both the LC200 and the Tundra and the LC200 has a diesel platform worldwide and is built in Japan too. I’d think it wouldn’t take to much to engineer the diesel from the LC200 into the Tundra. Per the Tacoma, I don’t know any counterpart to it across the globe, the Hilux to my understanding is a different platform all together? I’d assume it would take a lot of TRD to engineer a diesel for the states and therefore it might be a while until we see a Taco with a diesel if it where at all to happen, but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We don't need no stinkin power plants in NY says Fredo Cuomo. Lectricity is magic and comes out of the air. Anyway the Canadians sell us plenty of power for a price. And why would I give a shi- anyway. I'm going to be the next president of the United States. There is no doubt in my weak mind that all the people in fly over country and down south will vote for me. I know I am right because I've never held a real job. Good god what would will I do? Have to flip burgers if they are too smart to vote for me??
