Did some vehicle entry and cover training recently. Note, unlike what you see in movies, cars aren't very good cover:

I think the fbi use to train to get behind the tire (like from the side) front preferably. putting the most of the vehicle between you and a shooter. I saw a video of a pretty easy high hit rate on asphalt reflections in between the tires for lower body hits anyway

Does anyone have a good recommendation on a locking pistol case? Similar to this?
    https://www.amazon.com/GunVault-Nanovault-Nano-Pistol-NV200/dp/B00384755S/ref=sr_1_51_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1530312769&sr=8-51-spons&keywords=pistol+travel+safe&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011&psc=1

This looks like its ok but I am looking for something a bit beefier. Its purpose will be for when I am carrying can cannot take the pistol where I am going or when I am traveling with my firearm. Amazon just seems to have a selection around 30 bucks or 250 bucks nothing in between. I would prefer that it is opened with a key not a code.

We were pretty much told that aside from the engine block, no other part is really safe as cover. The other interesting thing was seeing how glass changed bullet path though the front windshield.

    Many & varied

$30 seems worthy enough to thwart a smash & grab. Check out Independence Day sales at Bass Pro & Cabela’s. These are usually marked down around $15.

I was always taught that vehicles are concealment but not cover....unless using the engine block

I think Tuffy makes a locking box that fits in the center console.

Take a look, might work for you.

They do for the second gen. I have a first gen. They do make a lockbox which should work for me though.

I’ve had mine since mid March. It’s an early build (has the X-ray sights), and it has been good so far. It does show a little primer drag, but nothing severe. Enjoy it! It’s a sweet little shooter!

Trading range time for alcohol, it’s nice to have family members that work for breweries.

I just picked up some CCI Patriot .22 (red, white and blue polymer coated bullets) for $15.00 / 300 rounds at Cabela's.

Sale ends either tomorrow or Sunday, I forget which.

    They're good guns.

    nothing special.

I wouldn't put a high volume of fire through them (talking 10k+/yr as high volume), they don't hold up to it.

Galloway precision will have you covered for most any upgrades you want.

I use xs tritium big dots on a glock build I have as well as running a set on an AK right now . Really fast for me when transitioning from target to target at various ranges and getting rounds on target asap .

Suspect they'd work great on a shotgun

Disclaimer : I've been shooting shallow v rear and bead front sights on dangerous game rifles for a long time so using these style sights well came pretty easy for me
