Funny you should say this, my fiancé texted me this morning right when I got into work that her car wouldn't start. I ran back home, popped the hood and saw that her Costco Interstate battery (only 2 years old) had a ton of leakage around the terminals. Jump started it and it ran fine but it won't hold a charge now, has to be jump started every time. Picked her up a new battery going to put it in tonight

I hope you changed the fuild soon after.

Thats all it does is break down the fluid and destory's it....then your tranny dies.

Early tacos with v6s have a high idle warm up. Both mine do that.

Interesting. Wonder why it only affected early tacos.

anyone know the grade or torque spec when only using 1 bolt out of 4 for the transmission mount? Maybe that’s what the extra bolts were when I bought it! Is it grade infinity & beyound? :D

On a good note, just finished 2nd primer coat on most of the frame behind the front cab mounts.

Why are you only using one bolt?

yeah unfortunately she bought it using her uncle's Costco membership at the time, and since he's out of state she can't return it without him there and/or his membership card. Sucks but we just picked up a better battery from the auto parts store with a better warranty, so lesson learned lol.

Probably worse for me since my PreRunner is a Cali spec truck. My 5-lug is a 48 State spec’d truck.

Most vehicles will high idle on a cold start to get the catalyst warm. But I find it funny how much the taco and the cruiser do it. The taco depending how cold will go maybe to 1.5k. the cruiser could be 60° and it'll still rocket to 2k.

I would say it's likely your switch. On mine if I open the door and wiggle the switch (the little button the door pushes) I can get the light to come on. I'm going to take it out and clean it up to see if that fixes it. If not, does anyone know what it's called, or better yet a part number for it? I looked on Camelback Toyota's web site and couldn't find it. It would help if I knew what Toyota calls it.

It’s been a minute since I’ve been in here.

Started fabbing a front winch mount

There is really only 1/4” clearance from the top of the winch plate to the front mini body crossmember. Is that going to flex and rub?

Ok what the fuck....apparently my 04 doesn't come with a rear crossmember, or it was removed at some point?

This Budbilt belly skid is supposed to bolt into the "rear crossmember" according to the instructions, but I clearly don't have one...unless I'm missing something really obvious here
