Yeah I’ve wanted to for a while, I know some guys have earlier in the thread.. don’t feel too confident doing it without a drill press or something unless anyone has a better/cleaner solution? If these aren’t too spendy I’ll probably just order a couple

Must have just changed. I just got mine last week and regular style. Still a great rack. I am looking at making a new fairing tho. Slightly taller and fill in the cut outside to stop more wind :notsure:...lol

Yeah I have taken my awning off more times than I would want to due to the awning making that side of my rack a lot less accessible (generally just used for surfboards). I would also be interested in a lower bracket, but I am also thinking of just selling my awning/brackets all together.

Hi all, looking for help from anyone that has mounted a light bar, particularly the 42” slim bar from @CaliRaisedLed. My light bar package came damaged so maybe there was instructions, but I don’t have any.

First question, how do you use the two little brackets to connect the bar to the wind deflector? The bracket seems to be too wide to attach to the cross bar as pictured below. I’d be very appreciative if anyone could send a close up of this area on their setup :)

    435BBAB2-C7D9-4244-84BB-6B2C5DF0FBBB.jpg

Second question (and I’ve gone through a decent amount of this thread so I’ve seen a couple different methods), what’s your recommended way to run the electrical?

The guy in this video drilled out the mount holes with a step bit. I have the exact same issue with the Baja Designs S8 mount, but I might grind down the edge of the mount instead. The only other option I found in this thread is to drill new holes for a cross bar (which I don't want to do).

I think I am going to remove the prinsu brackets and use this method: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/arb-1250-awning-install-and-review.469517/

I should be able to use both at the cost of losing some easily accessible tie down points
