Also the photographer who shot my 4runner for Black Rhino has recently moved to Austin from Houston and is a pretty cool guy. He posted on his Facebook asking advice on how to make friends in Austin so I told him to check out C&C at COTA and that my Toyota crew were some cool people to hang out with. His name is Billy and he drives a cement TRD Pro 4runner. Maybe he can be the next TTC member!

 

Morning people. Cant sleep. So i am reading about how Chrysler sent a team of trucks into the mtn st Helens area after the eruption to gather up emergency vehicles to study the effects of volcanic ash on vehicles. One cop kept cleaning his filter to keep the car running. The first thing to fail was the alternator bearings, then he kept driving till it over heated from ash clogging the radiator. When inspected they found ash on the crank bearings and inside the transmission pan as well.

 

Volcanic ash = nature's glitter?

 

I guess. I know jet engined aircrsft have to avoid it no mstter what. When it enters the combustors it will melt into a glassy substance and it will flame out in a matter of minutes.

 

Even being within a few miles of volcanos, we have to clean the engines. It’s pretty fun shooting water in the inlet while the helicopter is still spinning!! I try to shot some on the little window vent in the pilots window “on accident”:

Long busy busy night last night. Worked all day till 5:15, my extended long travel brake lines came in @ 5:25 races to @Texoma an @T4Rgurl to install, left there @9:00 on the dot..
Back to my place an Chase met me there to work on his rig.

Got his new CJs Concepts plate system installed and dometic slide with arb set up.

All buttoned up with custom to for his trim and notches for solar an dual battery wiring.

We worked an chat til 11:45 got him all set up for his departure this morning for Colorado alpine loop.

Then clean up an bang out some emails.
Finally passed out around 215 few hours later back at it!
