I had 5 weeks after 17 years at my last gig plus a lot of accumulated days. They wouldn’t let me have them due to incurring overtime. So when I left they payed me out & only the Tax man benefited as far as I’m concerned.

Wine ice is pretty good. My wife has been trying that alot ately. It doesn't completely freeze but turns into roughly the consistency of a slushy

    It wasn't.

Heat got me. Almost passed out. Got hydrated and cooled off.

Then got incredibly pissed off at an employee that assumes he's special. He's not. He MAY be unemployed by monday.

Home. No appetite. That's not typical for me.

Making an effort to cut down weekly mileage on truck. That's working.

Happy to see friday on the horizon.

Envelope taped to my office door this morning when I got here. I didn't open it at first. Usually a sign of a complaint that needs addressed....Not this time!

We do an outing in late August for local Moog warehouse/Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts stores in the area. They rent the golf course for the day and invite all their dealers and jobbers. I always help them do set ups and help where I can. Owner of Moog Warehouse is aware of my hobby.

Envelope contains a gift card for $500 redeemable at any Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts store, for any parts available through Moog.

Saving for eventual front suspension rebuild!

Hit the panic button. We have (had) someone stuck on the elevator! (says my boss)

I get my door key and open the elevator at lowest level. There sits the car, 2 towel carts, and the linen delivery guy. Car is stopped about a foot from lowest level. I pull one linen cart out. He leans forward to start pushing 2nd cart. With that, elevator starts moving AGAIN. He was backed up against the key pad, doing the elevator equivalent of butt dialing the emergency stop button. Had he just stood up and away from the buttons, none of this would have happened.

This is my life (most days)

And one more from me. Usually this sort of shit happens 5 minutes AFTER I leave for home, so I have to come back.

Boss now knows where elevator emergency key is at and he's semi-intelligent enough to use it (properly)

Life @ the Human Zoo is gradually getting easier. So glad Asshat is gone. This would have been a class alpha emergency requiring a full on staff meeting. 5 minutes and all was back to normal. (Whatever normal is here)

1 DAY off means 1 NIGHT off.

    Tonight is that night.

Wifey makes vet appointment for yerz troolee to take our 3 dawgs for rabies shots @ 7pm.

    It's my fault. I said I do. I did.

Just pissed off some mouthy bitch. (Not the first time for that) We pulled in a Pilot truck stop to grab a cold drink. The car in the spot next to us was closed up, not running and a beagle puppy in the front seat. It looked hot. I went in, grabbed a couple drinks and came out. Still no one at the car. I called the sherriff dept. Told them what was going on. They had a car near by. The dispatcher said she could hear the dog crying over the phone. She explained that the law protected me if I needed to break the window. I had a 18" cresent wrench in my truck. When the cop got there, he said break it. I busted out a back door window. The dog practically dove out the window. My wife started giving it water. About that time, the owner of the car showed up. She started screaming at us. The cop stepped in and asked her if she was prepared for a $750 animal abuse citation. She got quiet for a moment. She started asking for my insurance information. I decided it was time to leave.

2 things get me riled up. Abuse kids.....abuse small animals.

    Shoulda busted out the windshield.
