You can probably find a good condition stock 3rd gen 4runner for <5k with ~150k miles. Tacomas tend to cost a bit more. 9k would get you an extended cab for sure, but a doublecab migt be tough.

 

I am in no rush....

 

She doesn't need all that room....an extended or single can would be fine.
