I over paid for it and it let's water in, but I still like it. $2200 for carpet and the front slider take down window. I think the normalish price is around 1800.

So I've been meaning to follow up with a post topper update. Looks like I am getting slightly better or at least equivalent mpg with it on. I had 20.1 mpg at 3/4 of a tank after a weeks worth of commuting before the topper. This week I'm running 20.5 at 3/4 of a tank with the same commute. It definitely hasn't gotten worse despite the weight.

I have noticed that when I put the Yak Rack on top of the topper I get 1 mpg less on average.

I average 15 MPG in urban environment but it's the 6MT so I'm probably winding it out and having fun rather than trying to get MPGs.

Seemed like the shell added some noticeable drag when I put it on. She felt a little zippier without it. Maybe a reason I tend to go heavy on the gas.

Yeah, Toyota definitely tuned the auto for optimal fuel efficiency. It goes to 6th gear about as quick as one could imagine. When I start driving for fun or get stuck in stop and go, MPGs tank fast.

I'm driving a long road trip in a couple of weeks and am very curious to see how it does over the course of that drive.

I have yet to add a topper to my 2017 but on my 2013 running stick size BFGoodrich KO2 Tires, i went from 420ish to 520ish kms per tank of fuel with mixed driving after installing a leer 100. Bought it used and one side window was leaking. previous owner tried to fix it but just made it harder to fix short of replacing the window. Wasn't a big leak so i never bothered fixing it. My 2017 on the stock tires routinely gives me over 700 kms per tank, mostly highway and trying to stick to posted speed limits. wondering what others are getting on a tank of fuel with a topper on with stock tires.
