I had that code come and go for a few weeks then it went away on its own and hasn't come back in months.

If anything you probably just need to replace the rear O2 sensor.

Thought I’d finally hardwire up my dash cam - had it working for about 30 seconds before the transformer shit itself.

Have another one coming Monday. For now I get to run the ghetto cigarette lighter power adapter.

:hattip: to you sir. After watching this one, I'm glad I went with option 1. Although, must confess I am a little worried about the tech botching it as discussed in the video. Anyone off hand know what (if any) warranty is given with a service like this? If the damn seal fails or starts to leak again... :annoyed:

It's been sitting in my spare room for about 3 months... I didn't put in the bezel - I'm testing to see if my led's are in the right way so I can just take out the gauges in case they're in backwards so I didn't see the home for it

Does anyone know if it's a gasket or rtv on the 3.4 that goes between the water bypass pipe and the block in the front where it's attached with two 10mm bolts?

The goal is to install everything needed for moving it - it's been sitting for almost a year. Front suspension and drivetrain. A bunch of other stuff will be added on slowly over time once it is mobile.

Why did you tear down the original engine block? I remember reading your build thread and you bought a bad 5VZ.

I have that one. There was a crack in one of the heads between valves. There was a possible baby crack in between the valves on the other one. The block should probably be good. I was supposed to get some good heads (ha) from a guy that got banned from this place shortly after he failed to send them for like 3 months and they are pretty beat up looking although I haven't torn them down to look for cracks.

I bought another engine and trans out of a totaled street queen w/ 160k. That's what's in my truck.

I remember that guy... you ever look into getting the beat up ones rebuilt?

I'm going to port and polish them if they're not cracked - I'll rebuild them, but I need my first gen finished so I can sell my 2nd gen. If I have time then I'll put together a new engine and maybe 4 years or so have a beasty 5vz to put in my truck.

I love it actually. I need 4x4 for what I like to do with my trucks though. 2nd gens don't share frames (well crossmembers) between prerunners and 4x4 so it wouldn't be possible to convert it without a lot of fab.

Really? I always thought you can convert 2nd gens the same way as us - I have seen a couple threads on it.
