P0500 code, replaced sensors, still nothing

There a way to test it before starting part swapping?

 

sorry late to the game here ... no need to replace sensors . test them first
multimeter should show resistance with sensor removed from truck
with the sensor bolted up and wheels turning you will have an ac signal

 

Talked to Toyota, they say its the cluster. any help on how to buy a cluster thats compatible to mine?

 

I’m in the same boat. I have P0500 and think it’s the cluster. I found a company on eBay selling refurbed clusters. Dealer told me around $600 for them to replace it with a new one. Apparently a dealer won’t sell a cluster unless they install it. I called a local dealer and my favorite online parts dealer. I got the same answer from both.

It looks like there were 4 part numbers in 2005 to cover all power train combinations. I saw something about with or without VSC, but I don’t think any Tacomas had VSC back in 2005.

 

I have a cluster for sale but it's from a 2014. It is plug and play - but will have to be programmed by a dealer and I don't know how much that costs.
