You are correct, the bump stop in the picture was one of my first designs and it was too large. Here is a pic of my V2 front bump stop. much more room and has about 1-1/2" of up travel before coming in contact.

Hey guys, Im sold out on my next batch of front bump stops. My material hasn't even arrived for that batch yet. So I am doing an advanced pre-order for the following batch. I will be placing my materials order July 9th. depending on how many orders I receive production time will be 2-3 weeks. This will also be the last batch at $60.00 per set. My costs are a bit higher for the V2 than the original V1.

$60.00 per set of first gen Tacoma bump stops plus $7.00 shipping. You pay Pay-pal fee's.

I'll keep a running list of who's purchased.

@TacoBunny & Sperrunner. Shoot me a pic of your 5 lug lower A-arm and OEM bump stop.

I'm curious if there was a technical reason to switch from the angular design language of V1? Better casting results? Just aesthetic?

Yeah, There are a couple of reasons the shape changed. I should swap that pic out with my current design.
    1. the angular design from an engineering stand point is poor as it does not evenly transfer the energy as efficiently as a cylinder.
    2. It was ugly...
    3. it was to tall...
    4. my angles were not what I wanted
    5. under hard compression it would Fart... Literally, sounded horrible. It was capturing air and acted like a Toyota sized whoopy cushion.
It overall sucked, But it gave me a place to work from :)

Gotcha, makes sense. #1 seems like reason enough to change it, but I do think it was pretty unique looking - opportunity for differentiation on the market at least. Bump stops aren't much of an aesthetically driven product though

And you're positive #5 is a negative? lol

Made it up to Avid to meet with @2ndGenJonny to have a look at REAR BUMP STOPS for Taco's. :taco:

Have my first prototype designed and running in the printer now

I love rapid prototyping!! 24hr. turn around.

We will be offering a complete u-bolt flip kit for those of you looking to upgrade. As well as a mounting plate that would allow you to use my bump stop with the stock Tacoma u-bolts. Between the two options I should have everyone covered.

Will post up pics this afternoon.

It was nice meeting you man! Looking fwd to running these!

I've got a long travel 1st Gen Tundra that wants to look into a set. His rear set up will be like mine and maybe even the same length.

I can have him come up to the shop next time you do if you want.

Ya, I can do a Tundra. Next time I'm up there lets have him stop by. My rear bump stop mounting plate that I designed for the Taco's will work for the Tundra's too. So if anything maybe a slightly firmer rubber to account for the added weight of the full size truck.

    Sounds like another fun project!
