Lots of dispersed camping up state creek or hay canyon with less people. Then can pop on over to pipestone via hay canyon. Other wise yes lots of camping up pipestone. The good spots fill up though. And like Lisa said lots of party's.

My brother and I are headed up to Glacier this weekend for a birthday bash, does anybody have any suggestions for some rad dispersed camping in the nearish vicinity to the park? My brother has some ideas from last time he was up in that neck of the woods but it never hurts to have more!

Good to know! I’ve been told by the guys at work that big beaver is close to the road. I just don’t don’t know what exact time we are leaving Billings, to know where we will be at what time. I’m hoping to make it farther than big beaver but with a 4year old 2 dogs and a pregnant wife I will be happy camping ANYWHERE. Ever since we bought the house it’s been weekend after weekend of housework. After hitting the pictograph cave this weekend I just want to get out and explore MT.

    Here we go again!
I’ll be heading out of Billings about 5ish on Friday. We generally go past Hicks Park. Just depends on how busy it is. Look for me I’ll have my RTT on.

Went last year and now again last weekend. I gotta say they improved the main road significantly. I mean, its no smooth ride, but much better than a year ago. The closer you get to the Independence trailhead the worse it gets. I don't remember seeing any construction going on this year.

I second chippy vs hicks. Have stayed in both places. Hicks is a few minutes down the road, but both are really nice places to stay. We stopped for lunch at Hells Canyon on our way to Hicks. Frequent stops seems to make the fam happy. Also airing down. Have fun!

Anybody been out to South Meadow Creek Lake recently? Or would there be too much snow to make it?

Spent the weekend with the wife and dogs. Went over Skalkaho pass then found a nice spot to camp on George town lake.

I just moved to the Missoula at the beginning of May and have been doing a fair amount of riding, there's lots to explore within riding distance from the city. Pattee Canyon, the Rattlesnake, Lincoln Hills and Blue Mountain are all solid options. Marshall Mountain has some of the only bike specific trails in the area and they're super fun but the climb up is killer. Do you use Trailforks? You may already know all of this, if so forgive me, haha. I haven't branched out too far from Missoula yet. I hear Helena has some super awesome trails as well and they have a free shuttle.

Lots of great places super close to town. I usually end up riding at 0500 because of kids and work but managed to shuttle deadmans ridge today. Been a long time, few dirt bikes and loose in spots but worth it.

OMG Butte has a Drive In Movie Theater???

So I drove to Butte last night with the kids. Saw Incredibles 2 at the Silver Bow Drive In. So haven't done that since I was... my kid's age. haha. Such a cool experience. Their candy prices are pretty decent too! Although in the old days you could get soft pretzels, nachos, and dogs at the drive ins. Kinda bummed we couldn't do that part.

"Camped out" at the Fairmont RV Park for the night. I'm amazed at how quiet that place was.
