    Hello,

Not sure if anyone has experience this issue but for my 2016 tacoma i had my head radio unit replaced since it was acting up shutting off on its own and touch screen not working. Just recently my replacement after 10k miles is doing the same thing especially and only when blue tooth is connected. It'll shut off and restart automatically when i make a call. If you guys have any tips please let me know. Ill be taking it into toyota to get it figured about but i think my taco is out of warrant since it has 45k miles on it now.

You mention you had the head unit replaced 10k miles ago and you now have 45k on the truck. I assume it was swapped out at around 35k and was warranty work. Make sure Toyota is aware of this.

Just my observation. If your iphone is plugged on the USB port and at the same time connected the the Bluetooth , entune acts as what you stated. At least it does on mine .

My Entune unit sometimes reboots during use as well. It seems to mostly happen when I'm trying to answer a call. I've noticed this behavior with USB connected, and without.

I wonder if there are any firmware updates available for the unit...

Anyone get a resolution to this? Mine is doing the same thing. Random reboots, touch screen stops working, randomly changing radio stations, pausing live radio then freezing up. Mine does this even when no phone is connected, so it has to be an issue with the radio itself.

Hey man, I just posted about this exact same issue. My entune is giving me a shit ton of trouble. A guy from corporate called me yesterday and said they were going to fix it with the next software update. I think this is BS and it doesn't really solve the problem in the long run. I've also read about this exact same issue from a tundra blog, which indicates that this issue has been around and they haven't solved it. At first they wanted to blame my phone (iPhone X) but i had it checked at the Apple Store and now they're just acting dumb. I'd just bug them until they do something about it. I've had my truck for four months and haven't been able to use place or receive a phone call without a reboot from the head unit.

Over the last couple days my 2018 touch screen has started acting up as well. If I'm playing music or an audio book from my iPhone via Bluetooth it will randomly stop playing or select the "random" function without my selecting it. This morning the whole touch screen stopped responding until I used the steering wheel volume button.

2018, built in June, delivery on/about 1 July; now 4.5K miles on it. I don't do anything 'challenging' with the radio. I've got the introductory Sirius running. Touch screen will lock up. Clock went goofy once, advancing about 4 hrs ahead of actual time and notice GPS was frozen. Radio was playing and decided to scroll through all the stations - over and over and over - you get the picture. Only thing that corrects the particular behavior is to rotate the on/off/volume knob. Not sure if that would've worked with the GPS freeze as I hadn't learned the 'turn the knob' solution at the time. I shut off the ignition at the next red light and restarted the engine. Also, on a particularly cloudy day the clock wouldn't display the time of day. Guess it gets the feed from GPS/satellite. Issues are on the punch list for the 5K complimentary service.

I tried the usb update and that didn’t do the trick for me. I recently switched from the iPhone 6 to the 8 and have been wondering if that’s the problem. I did experiment with turning my IPhone 8 Bluetooth off and the radio seemed to not reboot. Minutes after I reconnected Bluetooth it started rebooting again and again so I am wondering if it something with newer Apple software interfering. I’m gonna swing by the dealership and see what happens.
