    The expo trailer? Sure is!

I spoiled some up a while back when we were talking about it here but haven’t got a chance to fish it yet.

July 6th-8th. Just going to camp at Frisco or at The Point campground. It's going to be hot and the fishing will probably be slow, but a couple days of fishing sure beats staying at home!

I hear that! Whiting/croaker/spot and bluefish ought to be up there pretty good. I've done a bunch of fishing up at Kiptopeke in the past. I'm trying to figure out a tarp sunshade shelter right now because it's always freaking hot in July. I'll either go diy or just fork out the money and buy a pop up canopy.

I finally got into making my own steel leaders. Got 75 feet of 60lb steel with a bunch of crimps for $11 off eBay. So much cheaper than getting them from the store. Blue's better watch out next week  The circles are 9/0 and the J's are 6/0.

Shimano Speedmaster IV... anyone use one? Does it have cast control? Can't seem to find that info. I found one with a rod for cheap, cheap enough where I would mag it if need be. Various forums make it seem like a awesome reel especially with a upgraded drag waster and handle.

I hate the beach. Too much sand…only reason I go is to fish. Heading down for my annual Outer Banks trip the first week in August. My brother and I are going out for mahi mahi one day. Might meet up with @08comatose on the way back up to fish.

Well my two days of fishing the Long Island Sound was pretty good. On the kayak (8ish hours total) caught maybe 10 sea robins and 15 or so fluke. The biggest was 18 inches. Had one that was probably 20 or 21 inches but got off right before I could net him.

A buddy and I decided to do some surf fishing at dusk using fresh caught bunker I got on the kayak. I cut the bunker in about 1-2 inch chunks. We caught a couple sea robins and then he reeled in a 36 inch bluefish. That blue had some weight on him, probably pushing 18 pounds. He was pumped! Biggest fish he ever caught. That fish convinced him to get a surf rod. When I cleaned the blue, he had half a bunker in his gut about the size of a fist. I will say this, I got a lot of weird looks from folks using the 12 foot rods. I guess most people use 8 footers off the surf, at least in that area.

I also may have picked up a TLD 15 for dirt cheap... going to mag it this weekend and see how it does casting.

I magged the 15 this weekend. Turned out pretty good. I can get pretty consistent 80 yards with it on a 7ft boat rod w/4oz of weight. Absolutely zero backlash problems. Hopefully I get to catch a shark or something on it this weekend in Hatteras!

Yeah as I've heard! It's still cooler than where I'm at in NC! I did see some blues, spanish, pomp, and whiting being pulled the last few days though. Maybe we'll get lucky and pull a bull dolphin like that guy last week! I got my fingers crossed. Hopefully it ain't too crowded as well:fingerscrossed:

Good luck, that guy is Nick Walke, he builds rods for TW’s. He’s a local surf fishing “legend” and has a hell of a horse shoe shoved somewhere. I’d say your best bet would be sticking close to the wash and fishing for pomp’s and mullet (whiting), it’s been on fire for the past few weeks in the right spots, which I haven’t found lol.

Went with a couple buddies flounder gigging last night and ended up with a 4lb sheepshead. We were cruising about 5knts heading to a different spot and I happened to look down and made a 1 in a million shot.
